“#’Gone Girl’ actress Lisa Banes remembered as ‘indomitable’<\/strong>”<\/p>\n

\u201cGone Girl\u201d actress Lisa Banes, who died this week after being injured in a hit-and-run scooter accident on a trip<\/a> to New York City, was remembered Tuesday on both coasts as an \u201cindomitable\u201d spirit with \u201cunwavering kindness.\u201d<\/p>\n

Banes, 65 \u2014 a Los Angeles resident who app<\/a>eared in numerous movies<\/a>, TV shows and theater productions, including roles on \u201cNashville\u201d and \u201cMadam Secretary\u201d \u2014 succumbed to a traumatic brain injury on Monday.<\/p>\n

\u201cHer stage presence, magnetism, skill and talent were matched only by her unwavering kindness and graciousness toward all of us. A tremendous loss\u2026,\u201d actor Seth McFarlane, who worked alongside Barnes on his television series \u201cThe Orville,\u201d wrote on Twitter<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Singer Jill Sobule said she was \u201cjust busted\u201d over the news<\/a> of the thespian\u2019s death.<\/p>\n

\u201cLisa Banes was magnificent, hilarious, and big-hearted \u2013 always helped me though [sic] the hard times. She was so beloved by so many,\u201d she tweeted.<\/a><\/p>\n

Julie White, a former castmate and friend of nearly 30 years, said she had clung to hope that Banes would pull through from her coma after she was mowed down on the Upper West Side while crossing Amsterdam Avenue at West 64th on June 4.<\/p>\n

\u201cI just didn\u2019t imagine that she wouldn\u2019t get out of this. She was such an indomitable person,\u201d White told The Post on Tuesday.<\/p>\n

She said the actress was \u201cunconditionally loving\u201d and \u201cso singular,\u201d with a voice easily recognizable to friends for sounding reminiscent of someone in a 1940s flick.<\/p>\n

\u201cGetting through this time, the voice in my head is her,\u201d White said. \u201cShe would say \u2018darling.\u2019 She had this way of talking that was just kind of fabulous.\u201d<\/p>\n

Though Banes lived in Los Angeles, the stage and screen actress had strong ties to both coasts.<\/p>\n

\u201cShe was very, very friendly and very loyal to her friends. If you made a friend with her, you made a friend for life,\u201d friend Cynthia Crossen\u00a0told The Post.<\/p>\n

Crossen said Banes was as \u201cclose to a perfect person as I\u2019ve ever known.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cShe was warm and generous and kind and beautiful and funny and the life of the party but also sympathetic and empathetic,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n

Loved ones are planning a memorial for the fall, potentially at her alma mater, Juilliard.<\/p>\n

Police have not announced any arrests in the hit-and-run.<\/p>\n

\u201cI think the friends and family are confident the police are handling with deliberation and care and really want to get this person,\u201d Crossen said.\n <\/p><\/div>\n
