“#’Call Her Daddy’ inks $60M Spotify deal after Barstool host feud<\/strong>”<\/p>\n

You may choose to call her daddy, but now you have to listen to her on Spotify.<\/p>\n

\u201cCall Her Daddy,\u201d one of the world\u2019s most popular podcasts, is leaving Barstool Sports<\/a> for an exclusive deal with the streaming service starting on July 21.<\/p>\n

The three-year, podbuster deal is reportedly worth $60 million, according to Variety<\/a>, and is the largest exclusive Spotify has ever made for a woman-led show.<\/p>\n

Alex Cooper\u2019s podcast, which made many headlines over former co-host Sofia Franklyn\u2019s dramatic departure last year, will have all past episodes available on its new home along with whatever comes next for the \u201cDaddy Gang.\u201d<\/p>\n

Cooper, 26, concisely announced the major move and her next episode on the show\u2019s Instagram<\/a> Tuesday with a post captioned, \u201cNEW SEASON. NEW HOME. NEW EPISODE. SEE U F \u2013 \u2013 KERS AT MIDNIGHT.\u201d<\/p>\n

Spotify also wasted little time enjoying the spoils of their victory.<\/p>\n

\u201cCall Her Daddy\u201d had been a Barstool production since 2018 and available across streaming services. But come July, \u201call future episodes and additional exclusive new projects in development\u201d will belong to Spotify, the company announced in a press release.<\/p>\n

\u201cFrom its start three years ago, the show has always been about challenging the status-quo and manifesting conversations that previously only happ<\/a>ened behind closed doors,\u201d Cooper said in a statement, adding that she will \u201ccontinue raising the bar great with content and guests\u201d on her new platform. <\/p>\n

\u201cCall Her Daddy\u201d was also named the fifth most popular global podcast on Spotify at the end of 2020, shortly after the fallout with Franklyn.<\/p>\n

The drama between the hosts, along with Barstool\u2019s David Portnoy, surrounded HBO Sports executive Peter \u201cSuitman\u201d Nelson, who was reportedly involved in business negotiations between the hosts and Barstool.<\/p>\n

Both Cooper and Franklyn wanted to make more of their meteoric rise to fame than Barstool was offering, but ended up going after each other as Nelson\u2019s involvement allegedly soured a potentially harmonious deal.<\/p>\n

The duo stopped speaking and Franklyn exited the show to launch her own podcast, \u201cSofia With an F,\u201d leaving Cooper as the solo host over the past few months, a role she\u2019s literally taken to new financial heights.\n <\/p><\/div>\n
