And while some bear humanlike <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/download-scripts-themes-apps\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"9\" title=\"Download Scripts &amp; Themes &amp; Apps\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">app<\/a>earances and mimic human emotions, they\u2019re being programmed as our friends, not foes. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cThere\u2019s just no way robots can fully replace the human race,\u201d Richtech Robotics spokesperson Miko Zhong told The Post. \u201cRight now, there are too many technological limitations.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The tech company created the autonomous robo-waiter, the Matradee.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Invented to expedite food service at restaurants, the Matradee \u2014 which speaks several languages, tells jokes and sings \u201cHappy Birthday\u201d \u2014 can read QR-code orders and deliver meals from the kitchen to the customer.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThese robots aren\u2019t taking jobs away from waiters,\u201d Zhong insisted. \u201cLike cellphones, they\u2019re just tools that can help people do a job better.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>This week it was announced that online retail giant Amazon is prototyping brawny bots \u2014 nicknamed Bert, Ernie, Scooter and Kermit \u2014 to assist the company\u2019s 1.2 million fulfillment-center employees in the lifting and lugging of heavy boxes. The company says its goal is to cut down on worker injuries at its warehouses \u2014 which tallied nearly 27,000 last year. <\/p>\n<p>Here\u2019s a look at some of the hardware that\u2019s being hardwired to take on human work.\u00a0<\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"The_Clockwork_Minicurist\"><\/span>The <strong>Clockwork Minicurist<\/strong><span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" width=\"1024\" height=\"682\" alt=\"This robot puts the \u201cart\u201d in artificial intelligence. Outfitted with four heavy-duty trays for shuttling multiple entrees or dirty dishes, the Matradee is decked out with smart-sensing navigation features such as infrared cameras that scan its surroundings and Lidar sensors to detect and avoid incoming obstacles from six feet away. <\/p>\n<p>The battery-charged bot can work 12 to 14-hour shifts, and will mount itself onto its charging base when work is done. She and her husband Andrew leased the bot \u2014 theirs is nicknamed \u201cPeanut\u201d \u2014 from Richtech in May when their restaurant suffered a waitstaff shortage brought on by the pandemic. They can even scan guests\u2019 faces to determine their mood. <\/p>\n<p>The high-tech hospitality workers function on specialized batteries, and they each take turns working six-hour shifts alongside their human co-workers at the swanky lodge in Johannesburg. When they\u2019re not busy providing a service, Lexi and her cyber siblings entertain guests by striking poses for selfies or providing important hotel information \u2014 like which floor the pool\u2019s on. <\/p>\n<p>Once work is through, the bots escort themselves back to their individual docking stations for recharging.
