A former high school student charged with opening fire on classmates at a Colorado charter school in 2019 has been convicted of all 46 counts against him, including murder.<\/p>\n

Devon Erickson and a pal shot and killed one student and wounded eight others when they fired inside a darkened classroom at the STEM School Highlands Ranch on May 7, 2019 \u2014 while their classmates watched \u201cThe Princess Bride.\u201d<\/p>\n

The verdict on Tuesday came less than 24 hours after closing arguments at the trial. <\/p>\n

Erickson, now 20, teamed up with student Alec McKinney to plot the deadly shooting just three days before graduation. <\/p>\n

McKinney, who was 16 at the time, pleaded guilty last year and testified against Erickson. <\/p>\n

Kendrick Castillo, 18, who attempted to disarm Erickson when his gun jammed after several rounds, was killed in the shooting.<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019m sure he was looking down today,\u201d the dead teen\u2019s father, John Castillo, told reporters. \u201cI believe, I feel, he was with us. He was probably with those jurors making their decision.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cThis day was justice for him,\u201d he said. <\/p>\n

Erickson faces life in prison when he is sentenced in September. <\/p>\n

McKinney can be paroled after 20 years due to his juvenille status. <\/p>\n
