We already know J.Lo kept the engagement ring Ben Affleck<\/strong> bought her all those years ago, the first time they were together \u2014 and very nearly married. But hey, it\u2019s a 6.1 carat\u00a0Harry Winston<\/strong>, what\u2019s she going to do, throw it away??<\/p>\n

But from what we\u2019re hearing now, that rock really was symbolic of how the\u00a0Hustlers<\/em> star felt about her former fianc\u00e9 for all that time.<\/p>\n

A source told\u00a0Page Six<\/em> on Wednesday that even though she was the one who ended the relationship in the first place, she always thought of Ben as her OTP:<\/p>\n

\u201cJennifer always saw Ben as the one that got away. She was crushed after they broke up, though she felt at the time that she had no other choice but to call off their engagement.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

Looking back from where we are now, it seems ridiculous they broke up in the first place. But things weren\u2019t the same then. The insider explains:<\/p>\n

\u201cAs hot and heavy as their relationship was, they were on very different paths at the end of it. Now Ben and Jen are finally in the exact same position as hard-working, successful single parents and<\/em> are both single. Or\u00a0were<\/em> both single we should say.<\/p>\n

So hey, maybe it was fate after all. And who knows? Maybe this time Jennifer won\u2019t let him get away!<\/p>\n
