\n The Dallas Cowboys\u2019 final offer to quarterback Dak Prescott would guarantee him a ton of money, but it app<\/a>ears it won\u2019t be enough to keep Prescott from playing the 2020 NFL season on the franchise tag.<\/p>\n

As of Tuesday night, according to NFL Network, the Cowboys\u2019 final offer to the 26-year-old Prescott was for between $33-35 million a season with more than $100 million guaranteed. However, reports indicate the two sides haven\u2019t talked recently and an agreement is not expected to be reached before 4 p.m. Wednesday deadline.<\/p>\n

In March, the Cowboys placed an exclusive franchise tag on Prescott after roughly a year of contract discussions. In June, he signed the $31.4 million franchise tender that ensures he\u2019ll be on the field this year \u2014 assuming coronavirus doesn\u2019t prevent the season from happening. Last season, Prescott threw for a career-best 4,902 yards and 30 touchdowns.<\/p>\n

The Cowboys signed former Bengals starter Andy Dalton this offseason to a one-year, $7 million contract as a veteran insurance policy.<\/p>\n

The main point of contention between Prescott and the Cowboys is the length of the potential extension. The Cowboys want a five-year deal, while Prescott has been consistently pushing for a four-year contract.<\/p>\n

The Prescott saga will be far from over, it seems, when today\u2019s deadline passes.\n <\/p><\/div>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<\/div>\n
