It\u2019s time for another round-up of new Blu-ray releases you should check out, including the must-have\u00a0<em><strong>Indiana Jones<\/strong>\u00a0<\/em>4K box set, the 4K 10th anniversary release of\u00a0<strong><em>Super 8<\/em><\/strong>, MonsterVerse entry\u00a0<strong><em>Godzilla vs. Kong<\/em><\/strong>, and the excellent \u201990s thriller\u00a0<strong><em>In the Line of Fire<\/em><\/strong>, which is also dropping on 4K for the first time.<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"INDIANA JONES | Official Franchise Trailer | Paramount Movies\" width=\"640\" height=\"360\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/DanNhL_Poh8?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Indiana_Jones_4K_Box_Set\"><\/span><strong>Indiana Jones 4K Box Set<\/strong><span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p><!-- SlashFilm_300x250_In_Post -->At last, the\u00a0<strong><em>Indiana Jones<\/em><\/strong> <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/watch-movies-tv-seriess\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"8\" title=\"Watch Movies &amp; TV Series\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">series<\/a> is on 4K. <strong>Steven Spielberg<\/strong>\u2018s four films (yes, there are four, we\u2019re not ignoring\u00a0<strong><em>Kingdom of the Crystal Skull<\/em><\/strong> around these parts) have never looked better than they do here, cleaned up in a manner that makes them look brand new. But looks will only get you so far. The real draw of the series is just how damn fun the films are (yes, even\u00a0<em>Crystal Skull<\/em>). <em>Raiders of the Lost Ark<\/em> remains a perfect film \u2013 a crystallization of pulp adventure heroes, with <strong>Harrison Ford<\/strong> oozing charisma and Steven Spielberg firing on all cylinders. And while the sequels never reach the levels of perfection as\u00a0<em>Raiders<\/em>, they each remain worthy in their own right. Yes,\u00a0<em>Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom<\/em> is a mess, and full of cringe-worthy xenophobia. But it also features some pure A-grade filmmaking \u2013 the opening sequence, with Indy in a nightclub, is some of the best cinematic work Spielberg has ever done.\u00a0<em>Last Crusade<\/em> is more or less a rehash of what everyone loved about\u00a0<em>Radiers<\/em>, but the set pieces are a blast and the father-son relationship between Indy and his dad, played by Sean Connery, is wonderful. And then there\u2019s the bastard stepchild\u00a0<em>Kingdom of the Crystal Skull<\/em>. It has issues, no argument there. Sure, they\u2019re making a fifth\u00a0<em>Indiana Jones<\/em> movie as we speak, and will probably release yet another box set with that entry included. But can you really wait that long? No, you can\u2019t. Abram<\/strong>s\u2019 love letter to <strong>Steven Spielberg<\/strong> and the movies Spielberg produced under his Amblin banner, and these days, it feels like no one talks about it much anymore. I remember it being a big deal when it arrived in the summer of 2011, but since then, Abrams has moved on to even bigger things, and <em>Super 8<\/em> has mostly faded into the background. I\u2019m not saying\u00a0<em>Super 8<\/em> is some forgotten masterpiece. But I do think it\u2019s a (mostly) solid sci-fi thriller, and I\u2019m pleased that it now has a 4K release to mark its anniversary. The premise involves a group of kids in 1979 who discover an alien monster is lurking in their town, and Abrams uses this setup to stage a bunch of Spielbergian tropes like neglectful fathers, childhood dangers, and kids riding their bikes into certain death. The movie kind of falls apart in the last ten or fifteen minutes, but getting there is still fun. It\u2019s also kind of a baller move that Abrams said, \u201cI\u2019m going to make a tribute to Steven Spielberg and get the real Steven Spielberg to produce it.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=XlWXGuQ80Po\">https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=XlWXGuQ80Po<\/a><\/p>\n<p><strong>Own or Rent?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><em>Super 8<\/em> is currently streaming on Paramount+, so I suppose you could watch it there \u2013 if you want to get yourself yet another streaming service. But the new 4K transfer is definitely worth checking out. I\u2019m going to say buy this one. Besides, up-and-coming filmmaker J.J. The 2014\u00a0<em>Godzilla<\/em> had some amazing visuals, but the storytelling and character development was blah.\u00a0<em>Kong: Skull Island<\/em> was fun, but also far too interested in referencing other movies. And\u00a0<em>Godzilla: King of the Monsters<\/em> took a great premise and ruined it. With all that in mind, I <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/download-scripts-themes-apps\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"9\" title=\"Download Scripts &amp; Themes &amp; Apps\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">app<\/a>roached\u00a0<em><strong>Godzilla vs. Kong<\/strong>\u00a0<\/em>with caution. I\u00a0<em>wanted<\/em> to be entertained by two chonky boys smashing each other against skyscrapers, but based on everything that came before, I was worried. Thankfully,\u00a0<em>Godzilla vs. Kong<\/em> delivers. Sure, the character development remains atrocious in these movies, but\u00a0<em>Godzilla vs. Kong<\/em> seems to finally be aware of that, so much so that all of the human characters feel as if their roles have been significantly reduced. But best of all, Kong makes for a much better protagonist than Godzilla. Godzilla\u00a0<em>should<\/em> feel otherworldly and monstrous, and that\u2019s how he remains here. He\u2019s mostly a background player, popping up whenever the film needs an action scene. Most of the time, though, the film focuses on Kong, and the big ape feels like a real living creature here, not just another CGI creation. We can easily sympathize with Kong, especially since he mostly just wants to take naps, eat, and be left alone. Yes, there\u2019s a nonsensical plot here about the hollow earth, but it doesn\u2019t matter. All that matters is that at one point, Kong gets himself a giant ax, and Godzilla blasts his laser breath directly into the center of the planet. But if you read this column you know that I\u2019m a firm believer in the idea that movies just look better on discs than they do on streaming. Is it all in my head to justify my unhealthy Blu-ray habit? Perhaps! But I\u2019m sticking with it. I know that\u2019s hard to believe, but it\u2019s true \u2013 and it wasn\u2019t that long ago! One movie that fits this bill is\u00a0<strong><em>In the Line of Fire<\/em><\/strong>,\u00a0<strong>Wolfgang Petersen<\/strong>\u2018s satisfying thriller from 1993. <strong>Clint Eastwood<\/strong> is a Secret Service agent who has been in the <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/game\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"7\" title=\"Game\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">game<\/a> since JFK was president. In fact, he was in Dallas the day Kennedy was assassinated \u2013 and he carries guilt around inside. If only he had acted quicker, JFK might be alive. Now, all these years later, Eastwood has to deal with a new potential assassin \u2013 a creepy lunatic played brilliantly by <strong>John Malkovich<\/strong>.
