Don\u2019t ask a question when you may not like the answer. <\/p>\n

CNN anchor Chris Cuomo learned that lesson the hard way Thursday, as Twitter users proved all too willing to point out examples of biased and unethical behavior by the \u201cCuomo Prime Time\u201d host. <\/p>\n

The trouble began for Cuomo after he decided to confront a social media critic who told him \u201cyou constantly deny facts you dont [sic] like.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cName one?\u201d Cuomo asked<\/a>, adding: \u201cTick tock\u201d.<\/p>\n

Twitter users obliged the anchor\u2019s request, with some listing several offenses. <\/p>\n

\u201cYou broke quarantine while actually sick with COVID,\u201d recalled Post columnist<\/a> Karol Markowicz.<\/p>\n

Indeed, Cuomo got in hot water in April of last year \u2014 days after announcing he had tested positive for COVID-19 \u2014 when a Hamptons cyclist called him out for violating rules against unnecessary travel<\/a> set out by his governor brother Andrew. <\/p>\n

The week after the heated confrontation with the cyclist (who claimed Cuomo told him, \u201cWho the hell are you?! I can do what I want!\u201d), the anchor staged what he called his \u201cofficial reentry\u201d from his basement, having been purportedly \u201ccleared by the CDC.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cAnything that has to do with your brother?\u201d chimed in<\/a> Fox News<\/a> senior meteorologist Janice Dean, a persistent critic of Andrew Cuomo. <\/p>\n

CNN heavily promoted the Cuomo Brothers double act on \u201cCuomo Primetime\u201d during the early days of the coronavirus pandemic. The segments often devolved into cringeworthy lovefests in which the siblings \u201chumorously\u201d squabbled over who their mother\u2019s favorite was, the size of Andrew Cuomo\u2019s nose and the governor\u2019s mercifully brief status<\/a> as a sex symbol.<\/p>\n

The laughter came to an abrupt end earlier this year, when multiple women accused the governor of sexual misconduct. In February of this year, CNN said it had reinstated its \u201crule\u201d preventing Chris Cuomo from interviewing his famous family member after app<\/a>arently lifting it to allow the yukfests that marked the spring of 2020.<\/p>\n

On March 1, Chris Cuomo told his loyal viewers that he was \u201caware of what\u2019s going on with my brother, and obviously I cannot cover it, because he is my brother. Now, of course CNN has to cover it. They have covered it extensively and they will continue to do so.\u201d<\/p>\n

In May, The Washington Post reported that Chris Cuomo was not merely \u201caware\u201d of the allegations against his brother, but he had advised the scandal-stricken governor to respond to the allegations \u2014 at one point saying the claims were an example of \u201ccancel culture.\u201d The revelation led to calls for the anchor to be fired from CNN and earned him and the network a rebuke from the Poynter Institute, a prominent journalism think tank, as well as colleague Jake Tapper.<\/p>\n

Commentator Drew Holden responded to Cuomo\u2019s challenge with a list of other missteps by the anchor, including giving interview slots to Florida coronavirus conspiracy theorist Rebekah Jones and disgraced attorney Michael Avenatti<\/a>.<\/p>\n

By Thursday evening, Cuomo\u2019s initial challenge had been retweeting 347 times and drawn more than 1,900 responses \u2014 a heavy ratio against the CNN anchor.\n <\/p><\/div>\n
