“#New Jersey is best US state to live in: study<\/strong>”<\/p>\n

The Garden State is the US\u2019s Garden of Eden, according to a new study.<\/p>\n

New Jersey was ranked as the best state to live in, on a Wallet Hub review<\/a> released Tuesday.<\/p>\n

The study compared the 50 states across \u201c52 key indicators of livability\u201d ranging from housing costs to income growth to education rates and hospital quality.<\/p>\n

Although NJ ranked very low in affordability, it got the highest safety score of any state and ranked very high in education and health metrics in the study.<\/p>\n

Massachusetts and New York rounded out the top three states. New Mexico was ranked the worst state to live in, with Alaska and Louisiana following closely behind. Connecticut was in 22nd place.<\/p>\n

Gov. Phil Murphy took to Twitter<\/a> to celebrate the good news<\/a> about his often-overlooked state.<\/p>\n

\u201cYou know it. I know it. All nine million of us who call this state home know it. New Jersey is #1,\u201d the Democrat wrote<\/a> Tuesday.<\/p>\n

\u201cAnd with our historic investments in education, health care, and our communities, we\u2019re going to keep building a stronger and fairer state \u2013 together.\u201d<\/p>\n

The latest survey is a far cry from an April poll that ranked Jersey the third worst state in the country, above only Mississippi and Alabama.<\/p>\n

Data analytics firm\u00a0YouGov<\/a> asked US adults to choose the states they preferred in a series<\/a> of random head-to-head matchups.<\/p>\n

\u201cNew Jersey is often the butt of jokes, including for its\u00a0occasional odor\u00a0or for being the birthplace of the \u2018Jersey Shore\u2019 franchise,\u201d the researchers explained.\n <\/p><\/div>\n
