The Moodys<\/em> will not be getting back together for a third season as Fox has canceled the family comedy series<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Based on the Australian series A Moody Christmas<\/em>, the Fox sitcom premiered in December 2019 as a holiday event series and was a moderate ratings success. The network renewed the show for a second season comprising eight episodes; however, it was pulled from the schedule after its fifth episode due to falling ratings. The final episode of Season 2 is expected to air this Sunday, June 20.<\/p>\n

The series stars Denis Leary (Animal Kingdom<\/em>) and Elizabeth Perkins (Weeds<\/em>) as a bickering married couple who reunite with their three adult children in Chicago for the Christmas season. The three children are played by Francois Arnaud (UnREAL<\/em>), Chelsea Frei (The Last O.G.<\/em>), and Jay Baruchel (Man Seeking Woman<\/em>). Maria Gabriela de Faria (Deadly Class<\/em>), Gerry Dee (Mr. D<\/em>) and Josh Segarra (Arrow<\/em>) also feature.<\/p>\n

Bob Fisher, Rob Greenberg and Tad Quill created the show and serve as writers and executive producers. Eric Tannenbaum, Kim Tannenbaum, Trent O\u2019Donnell, Phil Lloyd, Jason Burrows, Leary, and Perkins also executive produce. CBS Studios and Fox Entertainment produce.<\/p>\n

The Moodys\u2018 first season averaged nearly 2 million total viewers and a near 0.5 demo rating; however, the second season\u2019s first five episodes slipped to a 1.1 million average and a 0.30 demo. After being pulled from the schedule, Fox later moved the show from Thursday nights to Sundays, with ratings dropping as low as 500K and a 0.15 demo. It ended up becoming one of Fox\u2019s lowest rated script<\/a>ed shows of this TV season.<\/p>\n

Fox has also recently decided not to renew Filthy Rich, neXt<\/em>, and Prodigal Son<\/em>.<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n
