Holiday spending is expected to reach record highs<br \/>\n<\/strong>&#8221;<\/p>\n<h2 class=\"article__subhead\" itemprop=\"alternativeHeadline\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Fathers_Day_spending_is_expected_to_surpass_20_billion_in_2021\"><\/span>\n  Father\u2019s Day spending is expected to surpass $20 billion in 2021<br \/>\n<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p><\/p>\n<div class=\"column column--full article__content\">\n<div class=\"article__side\">\n<div class=\"container--sticky not-active\">\n<div id=\"cx-next\">\n              <\/div>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<div id=\"js-article__body\" class=\"article__body article-wrap at16-col16 barrons-article-wrap\" itemprop=\"articleBody\" data-sbid=\"WP-MKTW-0000310754\">\n<div class=\"barrons-article-ad-wrapper\">\n<div data-track=\"barrons-article-ad-wrap\" class=\"barrons-article-ad sticky_item\">\n<div class=\"barrons-main-article-ad-target sticky_target body_ad\" aria-hidden=\"true\"><\/div>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<p>       The U.S. is on the verge of having its most expensive Father\u2019s Day of all time.<\/p>\n<p> Father\u2019s Day is this Sunday and early spending data indicates the U.S. will spend a record $20.1 billion around the holiday, according to the National Retail Federation, the world\u2019s largest retail trade association.<\/p>\n<p>This figure would be the most all time, far eclipsing the $17 billion spent on dads in 2020.<\/p>\n<div class=\"paywall\">\n       <strong>See also: What is Juneteenth?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>According to an <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/nrf.com\/media-center\/press-releases\/fathers-day-spending-hit-201-billion-according-nrf\" class=\"icon none\">NRF survey<\/a>,  respondents say they plan to spend an average of $174 on Father\u2019s Day items, which is about $26 more than last year. 2020 spending was a previous record high for the survey. <\/p>\n<p>The increase may be partially due to the increased ability to go on <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/trip-and-travel\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"10\" title=\"Trip &amp; Travel\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">trip<\/a>s or in-person events.
