{"id":279189,"date":"2021-06-20T02:43:17","date_gmt":"2021-06-19T23:43:17","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/en.buradabiliyorum.com\/inside-industrial-made-meths-meteoric-rise-in-nyc\/"},"modified":"2021-06-20T02:43:17","modified_gmt":"2021-06-19T23:43:17","slug":"inside-industrial-made-meths-meteoric-rise-in-nyc","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/inside-industrial-made-meths-meteoric-rise-in-nyc\/","title":{"rendered":"#Inside industrial-made meth\u2019s meteoric rise in NYC"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>&#8220;<strong>#Inside industrial-made meth\u2019s meteoric rise in NYC<\/strong>&#8221;<\/p>\n<div>\n<p>A \u201ctidal wave\u201d of dangerous synthetic drugs is flooding New York City, with methamphetamines and fentanyl pouring over the U.S. southern border at alarming rates and quickly finding their way into local neighborhoods, the U.S. Drug Enforcement Agency said.<\/p>\n<p>This influx of dangerous drugs is having a deadly impact on the streets of New York, according to <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www1.nyc.gov\/site\/doh\/about\/press\/pr2021\/city-to-confront-overdose-deaths-with-enhanced-services.page\">an April 30 report<\/a> from local health officials.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cFentanyl is up, a heroin rise is going on in New Year City and a very new wave that hit New York City is meth,\u201d DEA special agent Ray Donovan told The Post. \u201cWe\u2019re seizing a lot more meth than ever before.\u201d <\/p>\n<p>He called the surge a \u201ctidal wave.\u201d <\/p>\n<p>Meth seizures in New York City<strong> <\/strong>skyrocketed more than 200 percent last year, from 244 kilograms in 2019 to 755 kilos in 2020 \u2013 a haul with a reported street value of more than $29 million, according to the DEA. It remained largely a problem in small-town America until very recently. The COVID outbreak of the past year only fueled their availability, the DEA told The Post.
