Sadly, they never caught on.<\/p>\n<p>However, we might see the debut of an under-screen camera in a mainstream phone, thanks to Xiaomi. Last year, ZTE even unveiled a device with an under-screen camera called <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.theverge.com\/2020\/12\/21\/22191459\/zte-axon-20-5g-under-display-camera-hands-on\">the Axon 20 5G<\/a>, but it wasn\u2019t too promising.
