Newly released footage shows the two men sought in connection to the broad-daylight stabbing that seriously wounded a volunteer for Eric Adams\u2019 mayoral campaign over the weekend.<\/p>\n

The suspected attacker \u2014 shown in surveillance video released by cops Monday wearing a red bandanna \u2014 knifed the 42-year-old victim several times on Morris Avenue near East 151st Street around 2:30 p.m. Sunday, authorities said.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n

He continued to stab him even while he was on the ground, sources said.\u00a0<\/p>\n

An ice pick and a knife were later found at the scene.<\/p>\n

Following the brutal attack, the suspect fled on foot southbound on Morris Avenue, accompanied by another man.<\/p>\n

The victim, who was rushed to Lincoln Medical Center, was out of surgery for a punctured lung Sunday night and is in stable condition, sources said.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Speaking on CNN\u2019s \u201cNew Day\u201d Monday morning, the Democratic front-runner said the volunteer is \u201cdoing fine\u201d and is \u201cout of surgery.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cWe visited him, and I spoke with him at the hospital, and the video was just horrific,\u201d Adams said. \u201cSomeone came up behind him and repeatedly stabbed him.\u201d<\/p>\n

When asked whether the attack was related to the victim\u2019s work on the campaign, the former police officer said, \u201cWe don\u2019t know, and hopefully not.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cThe police department\u2019s conducting a thorough investigation,\u201d Adams said. \u201cThe video was there, and that\u2019s why it\u2019s so important to use technology<\/a> to add another layer on public protection in the city.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n

In addition to the bandanna, the stabbing suspect wore a white tank top, camouflage shorts, red sneakers and a black and gray backpack, cops said.\u00a0<\/p>\n

His alleged accomplice was last seen wearing a gray sweater with the word \u201cPrivileged\u201d on the front, beige pants and red and white sneakers.<\/p>\n

The victim has nearly 50 prior arrests, sources said.\n <\/p><\/div>\n
