Dave Chappelle proved he\u2019s more than just a comedia<\/a>n after performing a surprise cover of Radiohead\u2019s \u201cCreep\u201d with the Foo Fighters at Madison Square Garden Sunday night. Clips of the \u201cSticks & Stones\u201d creator\u2019s stirring cameo have since gone viral<\/a> across social media. <\/p>\n

Crowds cheered as the Grammy-winning comedian, 47, took lead vocals during the concert, which marked the venue\u2019s first full-capacity event since the start of the pandemic in 2020. The show was only open to fully vaccinated fans, which prompted throngs of anti-lockdown protesters to demonstrate outside the arena, Hotpress reported.<\/a> No word as to whether the Foo Fighters were able to fight them off this time. <\/p>\n

Naturally, a comic and a rock band might seem like an odd pairing. However, Chappelle was reportedly already in New York City for his new documentary, and couldn\u2019t pass on the chance to collaborate with the Foo Fighters, who are slated to be inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame later this year.<\/p>\n

Fans were over the moon about the the iconic comic\u2019s surprise appearance. (Warning: Some strong language is included in the clip below.)<\/p>\n

\u201cYou got two of the best Daves in the universe teaming up for Creep,\u201d wrote another in reference to Foo Fighters frontman Dave Grohl, who had invited Chappelle onstage.<\/p>\n

Despite the adulation, come critics couldn\u2019t help but notice that the comedy great\u2019s \u201cCreep\u201d cover was a bit off-key. <\/p>\n

\u201cAaaaand he butchered that song,\u201d tweeted one detractor.<\/a> \u201cHe shouldn\u2019t even sing happy birthday. Holy hell.\u201d<\/p>\n

This isn\u2019t the first time Chappelle has collaborated with the Seattle-based rockers. The Mark Twain award winner famously hosted a \u201cSaturday Night Live\u201d episode this past November<\/a> in which the Foo Fighters were the musical guests. <\/p>\n
