A 3-year-old Texas boy drowned on his birthday while visiting family in Ohio last week, authorities said Monday.<\/p>\n

Austin Smith was found unresponsive in a pond at a relative\u2019s Wayne Township home on Friday afternoon, according to the Auglaize County Sheriff\u2019s Office.<\/p>\n

Emergency responders took the boy to Lima Memorial Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.<\/p>\n

The sheriff\u2019s office called the drowning a \u201ctragic accident\u201d and said in a statement that they do not suspect foul play.\n <\/p><\/div>\n
