{"id":280938,"date":"2021-06-22T20:00:00","date_gmt":"2021-06-22T17:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/en.buradabiliyorum.com\/blockchain-capital-secures-300m-funding-from-paypal-visa\/"},"modified":"2021-06-22T20:00:00","modified_gmt":"2021-06-22T17:00:00","slug":"blockchain-capital-secures-300m-funding-from-paypal-visa","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/blockchain-capital-secures-300m-funding-from-paypal-visa\/","title":{"rendered":"# Blockchain Capital secures $300M funding from PayPal, Visa"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>&#8220;<strong># Blockchain Capital secures $300M funding from PayPal, Visa <\/strong>&#8221;<br \/>\n<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/images.cointelegraph.com\/images\/840_aHR0cHM6Ly9zMy5jb2ludGVsZWdyYXBoLmNvbS91cGxvYWRzLzIwMjEtMDYvNGYwZjI4MWYtNTJkMS00OThhLWIzNGEtNjViODU2N2IxMjI5LmpwZw==.jpg\" \/><\/p>\n<div class=\"post-content\" data-v-128018ef>PayPal and Visa are among several major investors to have participated in a $300 million funding for Blockchain Capital.<\/p>\n<p>In a release issued on Tuesday, Blockchain Capital announced that the close of its Blockchain Capital V LP.<\/p>\n<p>According to the <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.prnewswire.com\/news-releases\/blockchain-capital-raises-300-million-for-fund-v-301316592.html\">release<\/a>, Fund V, c<a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/download-scripts-themes-apps\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"9\" title=\"Download Scripts &amp; Themes &amp; Apps\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">app<\/a>ed at $300 million was oversubscribed with numerous investors including college endowments, family offices, and pension funds participating in the capital raise.<\/p>\n<p>As part of the announcement, Blockchain Capital stated that PayPal, Visa, and some other Fund V investors will take part in the firm\u2019s strategic partnership program.<\/p>\n<p>Blockchain Capital is one of the oldest blockchain-focused funds in the industry and currently backs major projects including crypto exchanges like Kraken and Coinbase as well decentralized finance protocols like UMA, Nexus, and Aave.<\/p>\n<p>The firm also has footprints in the nonfungible token space with NFT marketplace OpenSea a part of its portfolio.<\/p>\n<p>As previously reported by Cointelegraph, Blockchain Capital together with Morgan Stanley Tactical Value led a $48 million <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/watch-movies-tv-seriess\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"8\" title=\"Watch Movies &amp; TV Series\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Series<\/a> B funding round for asset tokenization platform Securitize. Back in May, the firm also led a $24.25 million capital raise for DeFi protocol Balancer.<\/p>\n<p>Blockchain Capital is a major presence in the blockchain venture capital scene that has seen $16 billion in equity investments between 2012 and 2020.<\/p>\n<p><strong><em>Related: Venture capitalists invest over $16B in blockchain equity since 2012<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Commenting on the success of Fund V and the pedigree of investors involved in the capital raise, the press release quoted Blockchain Capital co-founder and managing partner Bart Stephens as saying:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>\u201cWe are incredibly honored to welcome a world class group of investors into Fund V who appreciate the value of a firm dedicated to a single industry.
