Below, I\u2019ve rounded up everything there is you need to know about\u00a0<em>The Night House\u00a0<\/em>before it hits theaters.<\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"The_Night_House_Release_Date_And_Where_You_Can_Watch_It\"><\/span><strong>The Night House Release Date And Where You Can Watch It<\/strong><span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p><!-- SlashFilm_300x250_In_Post --><em>The Night House<\/em> release date is currently set for\u00a0A<strong>ugust 20, 2021<\/strong>. As of this moment, it\u2019s exclusive to theaters \u2013 but it could always end up available digitally at a later date.\u00a0<em>The Night House<\/em> first had its world premiere on January 24, 2020 at the Sundance Film Festival. It was first given a\u00a0July 16, 2021 release date before being moved back to August. Personally, I think they should\u2019ve moved it closer to Halloween to cash in on all the spookiness, but that\u2019s me.<\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"What_is_The_Night_House\"><\/span><strong>What is\u00a0<\/strong><strong>The Night House<\/strong><strong>?\u00a0<\/strong><span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p><em>The Night House<\/em> is a new horror movie from filmmaker David Bruckner, who helmed segments in the horror anthology films\u00a0<i>The Signal<\/i>, <i>V\/H\/S<\/i>, and\u00a0<i>Southbound. <\/i>He also directed\u00a0<em>The Ritual<\/em>, and will helm the upcoming\u00a0<em>Hellraiser<\/em> reboot. I caught\u00a0<em>The Night House<\/em> at Sundance, and while the movie has a few issues on a <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/download-scripts-themes-apps\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"9\" title=\"Download Scripts &amp; Themes &amp; Apps\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">script<\/a> level, it\u2019s pretty damn effective at giving you the creeps. As I wrote in my review:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>Bruckner, who helmed\u00a0<em>The Ritual<\/em>, as well as one of the best segments of\u00a0<em>VHS<\/em>\u00a0(\u201cAmateur Night\u201d), is adept at building dread. He lets the camera linger longer than it should, creating a palpable sense of unease. And he knows how to stage one hell of a jump scare. Make that jump\u00a0<em>scares<\/em>\u00a0\u2013 there\u2019s one sequence midway through the film where the filmmaker packs on one genuinely scary jump scare after another, after another, after another. The construction of the scene is remarkable \u2013 just when you think things are going to let-up\u00a0<em>another<\/em>\u00a0jarring event occurs.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"The_Night_House_Synopsis\"><\/span><strong>The Night House<\/strong> <strong>Synopsis<\/strong><span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>Here\u2019s\u00a0<em>The Night House<\/em> synopsis:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p><em>The Night House<\/em> follows a widow (Rebecca Hall) who begins to uncover her recently deceased husband\u2019s disturbing secrets.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p><!-- SlashFilm_300x250_In_Post_2 --><\/p>\n<p>The Sundance synopsis is a bit more detailed:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>Reeling from the unexpected death of her husband, Beth (Rebecca Hall) is left alone in the lakeside home he built for her. She tries as best she can to keep together\u2014but then the dreams come. Disturbing visions of a presence in the house call to her, beckoning with a ghostly allure. But the harsh light of day washes away any proof of a haunting. Against the advice of her friends, she begins digging into his belongings, yearning for answers. What she finds are secrets both strange and terrible and a mystery she\u2019s determined to resolve.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"The_Night_House_Director_Crew_and_More\"><\/span><strong>The Night House\u00a0<\/strong><strong>Director, Crew, and More<\/strong><span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>As mentioned above,\u00a0<em>The Night House<\/em> comes from director David Bruckner. \u201cI think exploring fear and anxiety is a reason to go to movies and it\u2019s something that I have taken an interest in, translating those kinds of emotions into horror tropes and putting them on screen. It\u2019s something that fascinates me,\u201d Bruckner <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.nightmarishconjurings.com\/2020\/02\/14\/sundance-interview-director-david-bruckner-for-the-night-house\/\">said<\/a>. I think there are so many different subgenres within horror that it doesn\u2019t even feel to me like I\u2019m not moving on to something new. Each one feels like a very fresh and new story of its own life and its own rules and it\u2019s own universe so it\u2019s fascinating to me for that reason. I like all kinds of movies but I do turn out to see most of the horror films that are out every year and I would say horror remains my primary interest.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><em>The Night House<\/em>\u00a0has a script by\u00a0<strong>Ben Collins<\/strong> and <strong>Luke Piotrowski<\/strong>.\u00a0<strong>David S. Goyer<\/strong>, <strong>Keith Levine<\/strong>, and <strong>John Zois<\/strong> produce.\u00a0<strong>Ben Lovett<\/strong> handles the film\u2019s score (which is quite good), while\u00a0<strong>Elisha Christian<\/strong> is the cinematographer.\u00a0Searchlight Pictures will be distributing the film.<\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"The_Night_House_Cast\"><\/span><strong>The Night House\u00a0<\/strong><strong>Cast<\/strong><span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p><em>The Night House<\/em> stars\u00a0<strong>Rebecca Hall<\/strong>, who is great in pretty much anything. She was also recently seen in\u00a0<em>Godzilla vs. Kong<\/em>, for those tracking her career (which you should be doing). The film also features<strong> Sarah Goldberg<\/strong>,\u00a0 <strong>Evan Jonigkeit<\/strong>, <strong>Stacy Martin<\/strong>, and <strong>Vondie Curtis-Hall<\/strong>.
