“#Inner Ear Studios\u2019 Original Location Shutting Down<\/strong>”<\/p>\n

Inner Ear Studios<\/a>\u2014the famed Arlington, Virginia studio that helped solidify the careers of Bad Brains, Fugazi, Minor Threat, and other Washington, D.C.-area bands\u2014is shutting its doors in October, studio owner Don Ziantara told WTOP<\/a>. Ziantara says eventually he\u2019ll open a new location. \u201cInner Ear is not going away\u2014it will be set up somewhere else,\u201d he said. \u201cI\u2019m still gonna be working. I\u2019m not finished. I haven\u2019t bought a fishing pole, or worms or flies yet.\u201d<\/p>\n

In April, Arlington County announced plans to consider buying land<\/a> to develop a new arts district, a stretch that includes the warehouse that\u2019s currently home to Inner Ear. \u201cI believe it will eventually be leveled, and there will be a stage there for live performances, which is great,\u201d Zientara said. \u201cIt will fill a void\u2014heck, I can move onto other things.\u201d Ziantara founded the studio from his home in Arlington before relocating to its current spot in 1990.<\/p>\n
