Blink-182\u2019s Mark Hoppus has revealed that he is currently undergoing chemotherapy for cancer, as TMZ<\/a> points out. Hoppus, who has played bass and sung in the band since its formation, posted the news<\/a> in an Instagram story earlier today (July 23). \u201cFor the past three months I\u2019ve been undergoing chemotherapy for cancer,\u201d Hoppus wrote in the Instagram story (viewed by Pitchfork). He continued:<\/p>\n

I have cancer. It sucks and I\u2019m scared, and at the same time I\u2019m blessed with incredible doctors and family and friends to get me through this. I still have months of treatment ahead of me but I\u2019m trying to remain hopeful and positive. Can\u2019t wait to be cancer free and see you all at a concert in the hopefully near future. Love to you all.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/blockquote>\n

Hoppus did not reveal the exact kind of cancer he has been diagnosed with, or at what stage it was found.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
