Yesterday (June 23), Britney Spears spoke at a hearing regarding her court-ordered conservatorship controlled by her father James \u201cJamie\u201d Spears. She alleged that the conservatorship has allowed her father to control her finances, decisions about her body and birth control, and more. Now, Spears has made her first public statement since the hearing took place.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Earlier tonight she posted an image on Instagram featuring a young girl holding a teddy bear. In the caption, Spears talk about her life seeming perfect to outside viewers: \u201cI apologize for pretending like I\u2019ve been ok the past two years,\u201d she wrote. \u201cI did it because of my pride and I was embarrassed to share what happ<\/a>ened to me.\u201d Find her full caption and post below.<\/p>\n

One day prior to the hearing, The New York Times<\/em><\/a> published a report indicating that Spears has been pushing against the conservatorship since 2014.<\/p>\n

Believe it or not pretending that I\u2019m ok has actually helped \u2026 so I decided to post this quote today because by golly if you\u2019re going through hell \u2026 I feel like Instagram has helped me have a cool outlet to share my presence \u2026 existence \u2026 and to simply feel like I matter despite what I was going through and hey it worked \u2026 so I\u2019ve decided to start reading more fairy tales \ud83d\udc51\ud83e\uddda\u200d\u2640\ufe0f\ud83e\udd84 !!!!!<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/blockquote>\n
