Paramount+ has added Juno Temple to the upcoming limited event series <strong><em>The Offer<\/em><\/strong>, the series which will chronicle the making of the 1972 Best Picture winner <strong><em>The Godfather<\/em><\/strong>.\u00a0<span id=\"more-678930\"><\/span><\/p>\n<p>Deadline has <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/news\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"2\" title=\"News\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">news<\/a> on\u00a0<em>The Offer<\/em>\u00a0bringing in Juno Temple for what promises to be a meaty role. <strong>Miles Teller<\/strong> (<em>Whiplash<\/em>) is already on board as <strong>Al Ruddy<\/strong>, producer of <em>The Godfather<\/em>, and <strong>Matthew Goode<\/strong> (<em>Watchmen<\/em>) has taken the role of infamous studio head <strong>Robert Evans<\/strong>. Meanwhile, <strong>Dan Fogler<\/strong> (<em>Fantastic Beasts<\/em>) will play<em> The Godfather<\/em> director <strong>Francis Ford Coppola<\/strong> and <strong>Colin Hanks<\/strong> is portraying <strong>Barry Lapidus<\/strong>, an executive at the conglomerate Gulf &amp; Western who held a lot of sway over Paramount Pictures at the time.<\/p>\n<p>Juno Temple will be playing <strong>Bettye McCartt<\/strong>, assistant to Al Ruddy during the film\u2019s production. McCartt\u2019s career began as publicist for 20th Century Fox and she worked as an assistant on both <em>The Godfather<\/em> and <em>The Longest Yard<\/em> before she became an agent and manager to the lines of Tom Selleck, Maureen O\u2019Hara, Anthony Quinn, George Clooney, Billly Dee Williams, and many more.<br \/>\n<!-- SlashFilm_300x250_In_Post --><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-678942 aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/d13ezvd6yrslxm.cloudfront.net\/wp\/wp-content\/images\/godfather-brando-offer-700x300.jpg\" alt=\"The Godfather\" width=\"700\" height=\"300\" srcset=\"https:\/\/d13ezvd6yrslxm.cloudfront.net\/wp\/wp-content\/images\/godfather-brando-offer.jpg 700w, https:\/\/d13ezvd6yrslxm.cloudfront.net\/wp\/wp-content\/images\/godfather-brando-offer-360x154.jpg 360w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 700px) 100vw, 700px\" \/><\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Two_Very_Different_Gestures_from_the_Mob\"><\/span>Two Very Different Gestures from the Mob<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>McCartt was integral in the film\u2019s production, and there are a couple stories involving her from behind the scenes that have made their way into the trivia of <em>The Godfather<\/em>. When Ruddy was warned about the mafia following his car (the real Mob really, really didn\u2019t want <em>The Godfather<\/em> made), he would switch cards with McCartt in an effort to lose them. One night, her car had the windows shot out and a note left behind said, \u201cShut down the movie or else.\u201d That sounds like a dramatic turn of events that deserves to be in the movie.<\/p>\n<p>Another story had McCartt being on the receiving end of a much nicer gift from the mob. In case you didn\u2019t know, the character of Luca Brasi in <em>The Godfather<\/em> was played by <strong>Lenny Montana<\/strong>, a real mafia enforcer who was originally hired as the bodyguard for someone from the Italian-American Civil Rights League (and the Colombo crime family) to ensure the word \u201cmafia\u201d was never said on set. But director Francis Ford Coppola\u00a0became entranced by the man\u2019s towering appearance and demeanor and gave him the role of Luca Brasi.<\/p>\n<p>What does McCartt have to do with Lenny Montana? At some point during production (via <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.vanityfair.com\/news\/2009\/03\/godfather200903\">Vanity Fair<\/a>), McCartt had broken her watch. Lenny Montana took notice and gave her an an antique, diamond encrusted timepiece as a replacement. Montana said it was from \u201cthe boys,\u201d and advised that she never wear the watch in Florida. That also sounds like an amusing and ominous detail to put into the limited series.<\/p>\n<p><em>The Offer<\/em> is a 10-episode limited event series from Paramount Television Studios that already has a straight-to-series commitment from Paramount+. The series will be written and executive produced by <strong>Nikki Toscano<\/strong>, who will also be acting as showrunner. <strong>Michael Tolkin<\/strong> (<em>Escape at Dannemora<\/em>, <i>The Playe<\/i>r) is also working as writer and executive producer, in addition to creating the series.
