After a 15-season run and two failed spinoffs, a new Supernatural<\/em> prequel is in the works, and more of the original cast wants in.<\/p>\n

News<\/a> broke yesterday that the show\u2019s latest spinoff series<\/a>, titled The Winchesters<\/em>, is in the works and will focus on the story of Sam and Dean Winchester\u2019s parents. The show will be produced by Dean Winchester himself, Jensen Ackles, and his wife Danneel Ackles.<\/p>\n

The man behind everyone\u2019s favorite angel Castiel, Misha Collins, threw his hat in the ring on Twitter<\/a>, saying, \u201cSeems like this show would benefit from a time-travel<\/a>ing angel-in-a-trenchcoat character. Just saying\u2026\u201d<\/p>\n

In a show set in the past, Castiel\u2019s time-traveling abilities would justify his app<\/a>earance. His tweet comes after fellow Winchester brother, Jared Padalecki, stated that he was never contacted about the prequel series.<\/p>\n

Along with producing, Ackles will reprise his role as Dean to serve as the show\u2019s narrator. \u201cBefore Sam and Dean, there was John and Mary. Told from the perspective of narrator Dean Winchester (Jensen Ackles), The Winchesters is the epic, untold love story of how John met Mary and how they put it all on the line to not only save their love, but the entire world,\u201d reads the show\u2019s logline, courtesy of Deadline<\/a>. If Dean will narrate the series, why not have Sam and Castiel join in?<\/p>\n

The show will be produced by Warner Bros. Television with Robbie Thompson, who worked on the original series, serving as a writer and executive producer. The Ackles\u2019 have an overall deal with Warner Bros. Television through their company Choas Machine Productions.<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n
