Before playing <em>Piece of Me<\/em>, Paris said into her mic:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>\u201cWe love you, Britney. Free Britney!\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"550\" data-dnt=\"true\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">Paris Hilton shouted out Britney Spears and FreeBritney tonight at Resorts World\u2019s Grand Opening! <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/hashtag\/FreeBritney?src=hash&amp;ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">#FreeBritney<\/a> <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/c6fndN8e87\">pic.twitter.com\/c6fndN8e87<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u2014 Fan Account (@TheSpearsRoom) <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/TheSpearsRoom\/status\/1408345342140194819?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">June 25, 2021<\/a><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p><script async src=\"https:\/\/platform.twitter.com\/widgets.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script><\/p>\n<p>The support is a great sign of their continued friendship, because the heiress was actually name-dropped in Brit\u2019s testimony. And not in the most positive way.<\/p>\n<p>Surprisingly, the <em>Circus<\/em> singer had expressed doubt about Paris\u2019 experience of abuse at her boarding school, saying:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>\u201cTo be honest with you, the Paris Hilton story on what they did to her to that school, I didn\u2019t believe any of it. I\u2019m sorry. I\u2019m an outsider, and I\u2019ll just be honest. I didn\u2019t believe it. And maybe I\u2019m wrong, and that\u2019s why I didn\u2019t want to say any of this to anybody, to the public, because I thought people would make fun of me or laugh at me and say, \u2018She\u2019s lying, she\u2019s got everything, she\u2019s Britney Spears.&#8217;\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>While this was a potentially hurtful thing to say about her friend, it seems likely that in the heat of the moment the sentiment got a bit confused, or at least wasn\u2019t as clear as it could be. And the <em>Simple Life<\/em> alum seems to have taken the call-out in stride, \u201cliking\u201d several messages on Twitter about not taking the artist\u2019s comments \u201cpersonally\u201d:<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"550\" data-dnt=\"true\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">Oh my gosh <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/ParisHilton?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">@ParisHilton<\/a> liked my tweet about what Britney said about her during the court hearing. Thank you Paris, I think that says it all! ???? And because she couldn\u2019t believe something so awful happened to Paris she was scared to tell everyone what was happening to her because nobody would believe her\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cyall are dumb. Britney wasn\u2019t dragging Paris. She was using her situation as an example. She was close to Paris for over a decade and I\u2019m sure she meant it like \u2018I knew this girl for years and didn\u2019t believe what she said, so I knew people would have this same feeling about me&#8217;\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cNowhere did she say \u2018Dosen\u2019t [sic] believe it\u2019 either. Again she used \u2018didn\u2019t\u2019 which is alluding to the fact that she didn\u2019t believe in the story before. Paris is liking posts and understands what Brit is saying. Keep in mind, they are friends and probably have discussed it.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>Hmm \u2014 that last \u201clike\u201d seems like confirmation that Paris and Britney are still in close contact \u2014 and she may have more tea about the conservatorship than the rest of us do. We just wish Britney wasn\u2019t limited to a 20-minute phone call to tell her story, so that her thoughts on these subjects could be less rushed and more detailed.
