RZA' Album Release Date With First Single\" class=\"large\"><\/p>\n<div class=\"news-caption\">\n<span>Stefan Hoederath\/Redferns<\/span>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p><\/p>\n<div class=\"body-copy  js-entry-text\" itemprop=\"articleBody\">\nWu-Tang Clan\u2019s de facto leader RZA is back with \u201cSaturday Afternoon Kung Fu Theater,\u201d the lead single off his forthcoming DJ Scratch-produced solo album <em>Bobby Digital Vs RZA.\u00a0<\/em>As the title suggests, the track is ripe with kung fu references as well as the EPMD legend\u2019s precise scratches and classic boom bap beat.<\/p>\n<p>The song takes its name from RZA\u2019s weekly streaming <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/watch-movies-tv-seriess\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"8\" title=\"Watch Movies &amp; TV Series\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">series<\/a> <em>Saturday Afternoon Kung Fu Theater with RZA,<\/em> where he provides running commentary for his favorite martial arts movies.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cLyrically the Hip Hop part of me had a chance to re-emerge during quarantine,\u201d RZA said in a statement. \u201cGiving Scratch the reins as a producer and me taking the reins as an MC, that\u2019s what frees me up creatively and lets me play more with lyrical gags and lyrical flows because I don\u2019t have to be focused on everything. He delivered tracks that resonated and brought me back to a sound that I felt was missing. For me it was really natural to flow and write to these songs.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"RZA, DJ Scratch - Saturday Afternoon Kung Fu Theater Part 1 (Official Lyric Video)\" width=\"640\" height=\"360\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/6m56nBcIjs8?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>RZA previously told <em>HipHopDX<\/em> the album was also titled <em>Saturday Afternoon Kung Fu Theater,\u00a0<\/em>but he evidently changed his mind.<\/p>\n<p>While discussing his new campaign with Cadillac Escalade and its state-of-the-art AKG Studio Reference System, RZA said, \u201cIt sounds remarkable, and I actually took advantage of the opportunity and played two of my own new songs in a demo form. So I played a song called to \u2018Pugilism\u2019 that DJ Scratch produced for me and a new song \u2018Saturday Afternoon Kung Fu Theater.\u2019 Yo, trust me. I\u2019m just going to say this outloud \u2014 in this song, I mention Escalade. So it\u2019s crazy. I recorded it before the campaign.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cBut what I\u2019m about to do this summer \u2014 and I\u2019ll just announce it \u2014 I\u2019m going to put out that album,\u201d he says. \u201cMe and DJ Scratch got the album done. There was a little misprint in the press a couple of weeks ago about Digital Potion. No, the new album that I\u2019m putting out with DJ Scratch is called <em>Saturday Afternoon Kung Fu Theater<\/em>.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>According to a press release, <em>Bobby Digital Vs. RZA\u00a0<\/em>is expected to arrive on August 6.
