Boeing Co. that an updated version of its 777 long-haul airliner is not ready for certification, and likely won\u2019t be until late 2023.<\/p>\n<p> <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.seattletimes.com\/business\/boeing-aerospace\/citing-a-serious-flight-test-incident-and-lack-of-design-maturity-faa-slows-boeing-777x-certification\/\" class=\"icon none\">The Seattle Times first reported<\/a> Sunday that the FAA sent Boeing<br \/>\n        BA,<br \/>\n        <bg-quote field=\"percentchange\" format=\"0,000.00%\" channel=\"\/zigman2\/quotes\/208579720\/composite\" class=\"negative\">-0.87%<\/bg-quote><br \/>\n       a letter dated May 13 warning it may require more test flights for the 777X and that a key safety certification is realistically more than two years away. <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.reuters.com\/business\/aerospace-defense\/boeing-777x-realistically-will-not-win-certification-approval-before-mid-2023-us-2021-06-27\/\" class=\"icon none\">Reuters<\/a> and <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.bloomberg.com\/news\/articles\/2021-06-27\/boeing-s-updated-777-hit-with-new-safety-concerns-from-faa?srnd=premium&amp;sref=Oeyjq8by\" class=\"icon none\">Bloomberg News<\/a> later separately confirmed the report.<\/p>\n<div class=\"paywall\">\n       The letter reportedly noted a number of concerns, including problems with the The FAA\u2019s 2023 prediction is in line with Boeing\u2019s current outlook, announced in January.
