“#Uniqlo Announces Mamoru Hosoda Collaboration T-Shirts<\/strong>”<\/p>\n

Uniqlo has announced the \u201cMamoru Hosoda Animation Works UT\u201d collaboration series<\/a>, which is meant to celebrate the upcoming release of the anime<\/a> director\u2019s Belle<\/em> (The Dragon and the Freckled Princess<\/em> in Japanese) movie in Japan.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The T-shirt series will go on sale in Japan on July 16, the same date as Belle<\/em>\u2018s premiere. They will cost 1,500 yen (~$14) each.<\/span><\/p>\n

The \u201cMamoru Hosoda Animation Works UT\u201d series consists of six T-shirts. Two of the T-shirts feature graphics of Belle<\/em>,\u00a0 while another two are based on 2009\u2019s Summer Wars<\/em>. The remaining two T-shirts sport designs related to 2015\u2019s The Boy and the Beast<\/em> and 2006\u2019s The Girl Who Leapt Through Time<\/em> respectively.<\/span><\/p>\n

Uniqlo notes that the T-shirts featuring Hosoda\u2019s past works share the theme<\/a> of featuring their respective protagonists\u2019 ability to overcome adversity and how they strive in life. For instance, the T-shirt for The Girl Who Leapt Through Time\u00a0<\/em>depicts an impressionable image of heroine Makoto Konno in a dash as she tries to save someone important to her. The T-shirt\u2019s left sleeve displays the digits \u201c01\u201d to denote the remaining number of time leaps she can make.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Meanwhile, one of the Summer Wars<\/em> T-shirt\u2019s motif is based on the moment where its protagonist averts a crisis by unlocking a password, while the back of the T-shirt for The Boy and the Beast <\/em>shows images of protagonist Ren undergoing sword training. The other Summer Wars<\/em> T-shirt features King Kazma, the anthropomorphic rabbit avatar used by one of the movie\u2019s supporting protagonists, on its back.<\/span><\/p>\n

For the Belle<\/em> T-shirts, one features an image of the virtual world of \u201cU\u2019, while another features the movie\u2019s mysterious dragon avatar.<\/span><\/p>\n

Uniqlo also said that virtual versions of the T-shirts will be distributed for free on avatar camera app V-Roid, with more details to come later.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Uniqlo previously released a collaboration line with supernatural action anime Jujutsu Kaisen<\/em>.<\/span><\/p>\n
