“#Studio Ghibli’s The Wind Rises Will Fly Again as Two-Part Radio Drama<\/strong>”<\/p>\n

Studio Ghibli’s 2013 film\u00a0The Wind Rises<\/em><\/strong>\u00a0retold the life of\u00a0Jiro Horikoshi<\/strong>, an engineer famous for designing the Mitsubishi A6M “Zero” fighter jet. The story will be adapted once again, this time for radio as a two-part, two-person audio drama.<\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/p>\n

The drama is being produced at\u00a0TBS Radio<\/strong><\/span><\/a>, the flagship station of the Japan Radio Network. Script<\/a>writer\u00a0Keiko Niwa<\/strong>, who co-wrote several Ghibli titles including\u00a0From up on Poppy Hill<\/em><\/strong>\u00a0and penned the kabuki stage adaptation of\u00a0Nausica\u00e4 of the Valley of the Wind<\/strong><\/em>, has adapted the story for radio.<\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/p>\n

The two leads will be played by regular TBS presenters. Taking on the role of Horikoshi, originally played by\u00a0anime<\/a> director\u00a0Hideaki Anno<\/strong>\u00a0(Joseph Gordon-Levitt<\/strong>\u00a0in the dub), is\u00a0Takaoki Yamamoto<\/strong>:<\/p>\n
