Netflix passed on picking up the canceled NBC <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/watch-movies-tv-seriess\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"8\" title=\"Watch Movies &amp; TV Series\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">series<\/a> and since that time, we haven\u2019t heard a single thing about a prospective home elsewhere.<\/p>\n<p>So what\u00a0<em>is\u00a0<\/em>the plan now? Does one even exist? It\u2019s complicated.<\/p>\n<p>In a new post on <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/social-mediaa\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"1\" title=\"Social Media\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Twitter<\/a> this weekend, showrunner Jeff Rake noted that he and his team are still trying to \u201cfind a way to conclude the series.\u201d He noted that it could take a long time, but that viewers \u201cdeserve an end to the story.\u201d A report from <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/tvline.com\/2021\/06\/28\/manifest-creator-jeff-rake-still-seeking-closure-after-nbc-cancellation\/\">TVLine<\/a>, meanwhile, notes that the goal right now is securing financing for a two-hour wrap-up movie. This feels somewhat similar to what another canceled NBC show in\u00a0<em>Timeless\u00a0<\/em>was able to do. While it didn\u2019t get additional seasons, it was able to have a proper farewell seen by most of its core audience.<\/p>\n<p>Trying to wrap up the entire story of\u00a0<em>Manifest\u00a0<\/em>in a two-hour movie feels like a challenge, to put it lightly. The original plan for the show was for it to span six seasons, though Rake and the team likely knew the whole time that this was highly ambitious. The majority of shows out there don\u2019t make it to a season 6, so it\u2019s possible they planned possible alternate scenarios along the way. Even if there\u2019s a lot of ground to cover in a two-hour movie, it\u2019s absolutely better than an alternative situation where we end with the season 3 cliffhanger.<\/p>\n<p>Personally, our hope is that if this movie happens, it will air on NBC either later this year or early next.
