Some older desktop PCs exclude built-in microphones, so an external microphone is required.<\/p>\n<p>At the moment, Alexa also supports most computer playback functions, including screen adjustments, volume adjustments, and voice and video calls to other Alexa devices. There\u2019s no need to open the app.<\/p>\n<h2 role=\"heading\" aria-level=\"2\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"How_to_Activate_Alexa_Show_Mode_on_a_Fire_Tablet\"><\/span>How to Activate Alexa Show Mode on a Fire Tablet<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>To activate Alexa Show Mode on a Fire Tablet, get within proximity of the tablet and say \u201cAlexa, switch to Show Mode.\u201d Alternately, tap the top of the device\u2019s home screen, swipe down, and swipe the \u201cShow Mode\u201d toggle to the \u201cOn\u201d position.<\/p>\n<p>From there, treat your Fire Tablet as you would a standard Echo device by reciting a wake phrase.
