\n A vacant Midtown Manhattan building partially collapsed into a neighboring construction site on Thursday morning, sending first-responders racing to the scene.<\/p>\n

The northwest corner of four-story 211 E. 34th St. came crashing down around 10:50 a.m., debris spilling into the site next door, according to the FDNY and images of the scene near Third Avenue.<\/p>\n

No injuries or missing persons were reported, but the emergency response snarled traffic in the area, according to the city\u2019s emergency management alert system.<\/p>\n

Surrounding buildings were also evacuated out of an abundance of caution, the FDNY said.<\/p>\n

Utility service to the immedia<\/a>te area was also temporarily shut off.<\/p>\n

The Department of Buildings is on scene investigating the cause of the collapse.<\/p>\n

An excavation project was under way in a lot next door, officials said, and investigators are probing whether it played a role in the collapse.\n <\/p><\/div>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<\/div>\n
