The same could be said of the band&#8217;s music video for their new single &#8220;Dark Star,&#8221; premiering today on The FADER. Director Anders Ericsson collects a <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/watch-movies-tv-seriess\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"8\" title=\"Watch Movies &amp; TV Series\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">series<\/a> of strange happenings that seem to revolve around a disco-<a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/download-scripts-themes-apps\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"9\" title=\"Download Scripts &amp; Themes &amp; Apps\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">theme<\/a>d cuboid not dissimilar to the monolith from <i>2001: A Space Odyssey<\/i>. The band met up and im<a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/social-mediaa\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"1\" title=\"Social Media\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">media<\/a>tely we started riffing on ideas, Eduardo and I were talking about J Dilla, the bassline came, the usual chords popped up, melodies and song construction became the focal point once the groove was established. Gabo laid down that steady 16note high hat magic with that classic yet always wonderfully crafted beat. Carlos was busy on the wurli crafting a vibe that eventually became the bed for the chorus. The track came together super organically, while John whipped up the nasty sounds.<\/p>\n<p>The hardness of the track lent itself to a more ominous meaning. The lyrics are multidimensional, in America there are so many layers of trauma that we all have to deal with that seep into our everyday behavior and attitudes towards each other. Genocide and slavery is embedded within the DNA of American culture and the social strife gripping America today exemplifies this. \u2018Dark Star\u2019 is about an honest feeling that seeks to break the status quo, tear down the physical and mental walls that hold us back from simply being ourselves.\u201d\n<\/p><\/div>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<style>\n<\/style>\n<div id=\"content_block-223065\" class=\"content_block paragraph text triple_gutter_right triple_gutter_left center_align\">\n<div class=\"content_inner_wrapper\">\n<div class=\"paragraph_wrapper center_align\">\n<p>            &#8220;Dark Star&#8221; is one of two new Chicano Batman songs out today along with &#8220;Pastel Sunrise.&#8221; It&#8217;s the group&#8217;s first new music since last year&#8217;s album <i>Invisible People<\/i>. Later this year, Chicano Batman will embark on an extensive tour of the United States.
