No one was happ<\/a>y to learn John Mulaney<\/strong> was struggling with a major relapse before he entered rehab last year, but the resulting total life shakeup seems to have led to a healthier, more positive place. Not only is he back on stage doing brand new standup material, he\u2019s also in a new relationship with Olivia \u2014 much to her delight.<\/p>\n

A source for Us Weekly<\/em> dished that the actress is \u201con cloud nine\u201d in her relationship with the comedia<\/a>n, calling him \u201cher dream guy.\u201d But that\u2019s no secret \u2014 based on an interview she gave back in 2015, she\u2019s been waiting years to shoot her shot with John. At the time, she told HuffPost Live<\/em>:<\/p>\n

\u201cWe were at a wedding together and I was like, \u2018Oh, my gosh, do you and your fianc\u00e9e want to go have dinner or something and go hang out?\u2019 At first it was cool, and then I kept going up to him at the wedding like, \u2018So, you having fun?\u2019 I was just so obsessed with hanging out with and talking with him.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

Back then, the former Saturday Night Live<\/em> writer never responded to any of Olivia\u2019s emails (She joked that she might\u2019ve had the wrong address: \u201cThat\u2019s what I tell myself.\u201d). But fast forward six years, and it\u2019s a whole new world. The Us<\/em> source said:<\/p>\n

\u201cOlivia and John are going strong. She has been sneaking into some of his shows and loves them. \u2026 Olivia is so smitten.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

The standup comic has been touring his new set, John Mulaney: From Scratch<\/em>, which addresses his recent struggles and rehab visit. An early Vulture<\/em> review reflected:<\/p>\n

\u201cHe was doing all-new material, not attempting to work in any of the jokes he was building in outdoor shows before rehab. It was raw, both in its frankness and in the complete lack of polish that we typically associate with Mulaney\u2019s work.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

Sounds like it might be a whole new leg of his career, as well as his life.<\/p>\n

Safe to say that the News<\/a>room<\/em> star is a fan of the new Mulaney, but the admiration is mutual. The Us<\/em> insider shared:<\/p>\n

\u201cJohn thinks Olivia is really smart and she makes him laugh too. They both have a very dry sense of humor.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

Seems like John is booked and busy, and in a super compatible relationship \u2014 and if he\u2019s staying healthy, we couldn\u2019t really ask for more for him. And as far as Olivia goes, well, dreams do come true, apparently!<\/p>\n
