The Sword Art Online<\/i><\/b><\/span><\/a>: Memory Defrag <\/i><\/b>mobile game originally launched on iOS and Android in Japan back in August 2016, and a western release followed in January 2017<\/span><\/a>. Now the fun is about to come to an end, because Bandai Namco announced plans to end service on August 30<\/b>.<\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/p>\n

Prior to that, sales of in-game currency will end on July 30 in Japan. Players will still be able to spend that currency until the end of service, though. For the global client, paid currency purchases are closed as of today, but you’ll still be able to use what you have until the game shuts down.\u00a0<\/p>\n

The official statement<\/span><\/a> thanks players for their support, and notes that the dates and times announced are subject to change without notice. For now, though, it’s locked in to end on August 30 both in Japan and elsewhere.\u00a0<\/p>\n
