The <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/anime-manga\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"6\" title=\"Anime || Manga\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">anime<\/a> <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/watch-movies-tv-seriess\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"8\" title=\"Watch Movies &amp; TV Series\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">series<\/a> about teenagers who pilot giant robots to defend the earth from monsters ended with its 26th episode in 1996, only to end again in 1997 with aptly titled film\u00a0<em><strong>End of Evangelion<\/strong><\/em>. In 2006, Gainax announced a new animated four film series called\u00a0<em><strong>Rebuild of Evangelion<\/strong><\/em><em>.\u00a0<\/em>The final film in that series,\u00a0<em><strong>Evangelion: 3.0+1.0 Thrice Upon a Time<\/strong><\/em>, will debut stateside on Amazon this August and you can watch the trailer now.<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"EVANGELION: 3.0+1.01 THRICE UPON A TIME - Official Trailer | Prime Video\" width=\"640\" height=\"360\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/GZfuWMDEJpw?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"So_whats_it_about\"><\/span>So what\u2019s it about?<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p><!-- SlashFilm_300x250_In_Post -->This version of\u00a0<em>Evangelion<\/em> is a sort of theatrical reboot of the original series. The first film,\u00a0<em><strong>Evangelion: 1.11 You Are (Not) Alone,<\/strong><\/em> debuted in 2007 and retold the first six episode of the anime. The second and third films,\u00a02009\u2019s\u00a0<em><strong>Evangelion: 2.22 You Can (Not) Advance<\/strong><\/em>, and 2012\u2019s\u00a0<em><strong>Evangelion: 3.33 You Can (Not) Redo\u00a0<\/strong><\/em>diverge from the original completely, bringing in new plotlines and all-new characters, including Evas and Angels.\u00a0<em>Thrice Upon a Time<\/em> will complete the new story and hopefully give fans a bit more closure than the end of the original series did.<\/p>\n<p>Amazon will also release the previous three films on their streaming service before the arrival of\u00a0<em>Thrice Upon a Time<\/em>, to ensure fans can catch up before the premiere. While I\u2019m sure Shinji is still the same whiny jerk, there\u2019s plenty of other character developments to sink your teeth into. The trailer above doesn\u2019t give too many clues about the plot of\u00a0<em>Thrice Upon a Time<\/em>, but it does give us some glimpses of the characters we can expect.<\/p>\n<p>According to a release from Amazon,\u00a0<em>Thrice Upon a Time<\/em> picks up as Misato Katsuragi and her anti-NERV group arrive in Paris, presumably to mess up some EVAs. (EVAs are the name given to the massive mechs that are used to fight the monsters, which are called angels.) Shinji and his crew are in Japan, but no further details were given. If I had to guess, the series is probably about to get pretty <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/trip-and-travel\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"10\" title=\"Trip &amp; Travel\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">trip<\/a>py. After all, the previous endings of\u00a0<em>Evangelion<\/em> are psychedelic fever dreams. There\u2019s also some kind of internal dispute at NERV, as the trailer shows two EVA units duking it out. If you\u2019re a fan of the original series, this is a chance to return to the world and characters that you love to be depressed by. <strong>Hideaki Anno<\/strong>, the creator of the original series, wrote the screenplay and serves as chief director, so you know this is \u201cofficial\u201d\u00a0<em>Evangelion<\/em> goodness. The original voice actors are back, too, including\u00a0<strong>Megumi Ogata<\/strong> (Shinji),\u00a0<strong>Megumi Hayashibara\u00a0<\/strong>(Rei), and\u00a0<strong>Y\u00fbko Miyamura\u00a0<\/strong>(Asuka).<br \/>\n<!-- SlashFilm_300x250_In_Post_2 -->For those who haven\u2019t seen the series (and you should), this is your chance to get into the world of\u00a0<em>Evangelion<\/em>.\u00a0<em>Thrice Upon a Time<\/em> is the <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.businesswire.com\/news\/home\/20210701005692\/en\/Japanese-Record-Breaking-Anime-Blockbuster-Film-EVANGELION3.01.01-THRICE-UPON-A-TIME-to-Launch-Exclusively-on-Amazon-Prime-Video-on-August-13th\">most-watched movie in Japanese theaters in 2021<\/a>, and is the highest grossing of all of Anno\u2019s movies.
