\n In the NBA bubble, the team that\u2019s crowned champion might literally be the last team standing.<\/p>\n

And Clippers coach Doc Rivers might have found a way to use the NBA\u2019s new \u201csnitch hotline\u201d to his advantage.<\/p>\n

\u201cI turned in LeBron [James] yesterday. I turned [Gregg Popovich] in today,\u201d Rivers joked, via ESPN. \u201cI am trying to turn all these guys in \u2026 we are going to be the only team left when I am done \u2026 No, I don\u2019t think it\u2019s a problem.\u201d<\/p>\n

The hotline, which was part of the league\u2019s 113-page memo detailing the safety protocols in Orlando, was set up to allow players and staff to anonymously report any potential rules violations they see. The line has already been ringing, according to The Athletic, with multiple tips submitted.<\/p>\n

The tips haven\u2019t exactly been popular among players. When the hotline was announced, Lakers forward Kyle Kuzma dubbed it the \u201csnitch hotline\u201d on Twitter<\/a>. In response to some of his colleagues submitting tips, Clippers guard Lou Williams tweeted out a rat emoji.\u00a0In an interview with Bleacher Report, Nets guard Spencer Dinwiddie, who is sitting out the restart after testing positive for the coronavirus, announced \u201cTo all my fellow NBA players, don\u2019t call the snitch hotline.\u201d<\/p>\n

Still, the hotline has produced results. Some players have already received warnings from the league for their violations, The Athletic said, mostly involving mask-wearing and social distancing.<\/p>\n

If players do not follow the league\u2019s protocols in the bubble, punishment consists of a warning, a suspension and then a campus ban.<\/p>\n

Two players have already felt the effects of the league\u2019s strict safety rules. Rockets forward Bruno Caboclo was reportedly unaware that he could not leave his room during the initial quarantine process upon arrival. Kings center Richaun Holmes \u201cbriefly and accidentally\u201d crossed campus lines to pick up a food delivery.<\/p>\n

Both players had to restart the quarantine process.<\/p>\n

\u201cThis is not some normal thing,\u201d Rivers said. \u201cCOVID, obviously, not only can you get sick but you can get other people sick. This is very important for all of us. We want to do our jobs, So, having a hotline, I guess that\u2019s important.\u201d\n <\/p><\/div>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<\/div>\n
