<\/strong>&#8221;<\/p>\n<div class=\"post-content\" data-v-128018ef>Eagle eyed denizens of Crypto <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/social-mediaa\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"1\" title=\"Social Media\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Twitter<\/a> have spotted a mistake in the NFT of the web\u2019s source code famously auctioned at Sotheby\u2019s this week. <\/p>\n<p>The <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.sothebys.com\/en\/press\/the-original-files-for-the-source-code-of-the-world-wide-web-sell-as-an-nft?locale=en\">auction<\/a> of \u201cThis Changed Everything\u201d on June 30 with a $5.4 million sale and was offered by its inventor, Sir Tim Berners-Lee. <\/p>\n<p>The NFT dubbed consists of four elements: the original source code, an animated visualization of the code, a letter written by Sir Tim reflecting on his creation, and a digital poster of the full code. <\/p>\n<p>Despite the sale having a direct connection to Sir Tim, whoever it was that converted the original text file to HTML coding language made a mistake, with DeFi and NFT focused venture investor \u201cBeanie\u201d <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/beaniemaxi\/status\/1410681600023699458?s=20\">noting<\/a> on Twitter that: <\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">The \u201cinternet source code\u201d NFT that sold for $5.5M yesterday at Sotheby\u2019s doesn\u2019t even have the correct source code as the conversion of the original text file to html was done sloppy so \u201c&lt;\u201c and \u201c&gt;\u201d wrongly display as \u201c&amp;lt;&amp;gt,\u201d in the video.\u200d\u2640\ufe0f<\/p>\n<p>Kinda embarrassing for Sotheby\u2019s <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/lqdvZ9CmI1\">pic.twitter.com\/lqdvZ9CmI1<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u2014 Beanie (@beaniemaxi) <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/beaniemaxi\/status\/1410681600023699458?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">July 1, 2021<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><script async src=\"https:\/\/platform.twitter.com\/widgets.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script>Mark O&#8217;Neil, a website creator, <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.bbc.com\/news\/technology-57680753'\">discussed<\/a> the mistake with the BBC, and noted in his view it looked like &#8220;whoever made the video for the website ran the original text file through something that converted it into HTML.&#8221; <\/p>\n<p>Some have argued it may actually add value to the NFT, similar to a misprint error on collectibles such as sports cards and stamps. <\/p>\n<p>Decentralized Autonomous Organization (DAO) \u201cPleasr\u201d who intended to purchase the piece but decided to pull out from the auction, noted that \u201cwe don\u2019t feel this diminishes the piece in anyway, in fact, it might be a bullish smudge.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Pleasr also highlighted that the mistake could be fixed as the metadata <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/download-scripts-themes-apps\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"9\" title=\"Download Scripts &amp; Themes &amp; Apps\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">app<\/a>ears to still be updatable, and said Sotheby\u2019s indicated that they would work with buyers to remedy the mistake. <\/p>\n<p>An NFT depicting the mistake is currently up for <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/foundation.app\/@arthaus\/outsourced-code-for-the-www-55278\">auction at Art Haus<\/a>, with a current bid just over $1100.<\/p>\n<h3><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Animoca_Brands_is_not_playing_games\"><\/span>Animoca Brands is not playing games<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n<p>NFT <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/game\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"7\" title=\"Game\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">game<\/a> and property developer Animoca Brands has closed the second trance of its $139 million capital raise, based on a \u201cpre-money valuation of US$1 billion.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Animoca secured $89 million back in May during the first tranche, and has now pulled in a further $50 million in the second tranche. <\/p>\n<p>The second tranche included backing from a long list of investors such as Coinbase Ventures, Blue Pool Capital, Gobi Partners, Korea Investment Partners, Liberty City Ventures, Samsung Venture Investment. <\/p>\n<p>The firm <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.animocabrands.com\/animoca-brands-completes-usd138888888-capital-raise-with-second-tranche-of-usd50000000\">made<\/a> the announcement yesterday, and noted the funds would be put towards \u201cstrategic investments and acquisitions, product development, and licenses for popular intellectual properties.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Animoca has released notable titles in the past such as The Sandbox, F1 Delta Time, and MotoGP Ignition, while also backing top firms in the NFT space such as Dapper Labs, Open Sea, and Axie Infinity. <\/p>\n<p>In May, the firm also partnered with DLT network Hedera Hashgraph to develop two DLT-based gaming projects, including a gaming platform dubbed \u201cHelix Warp\u201d and an NFT-based soccer game. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cTo commemorate the achievement of its unicorn valuation, Animoca Brands will issue NFTs to its investors and key partners,\u201d the announcement stated. <\/p>\n<h3><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Limited_active_NFT_collectors_on_SuperRare\"><\/span>Limited active NFT collectors on SuperRare<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n<p>According to data from Dune Analytics, active monthly collectors, or people who purchased multiple NFTs on the SuperRare platform number only in the hundreds. <\/p>\n<p>At the peak of the NFT bull run in March, there were just 929 active monthly collectors on SuperRare, a month in which total primary revenue hit more than $3.3 million on the platform. <\/p>\n<p>The number has also declined steadily as hype and prices surrounding NFTs have started to fall over the past few months. In April there were 503 active collectors, 264 in May, and a mere 196 in June.
