The Issue: The Pennsylvania Supreme Court\u2019s overturning of Bill Cosby\u2019s conviction for sexual assault.<\/strong><\/p>\n

I mourn for the myriad women who were victimized by Bill Cosby, who have been thrust onto an emotional roller coaster that culminated in Cosby now enjoying freedom \u2014 not because he did not do what he is accused of, but because of a technicality (\u201cSex Con Now An Ex-Con,\u201d July 1).<\/p>\n

I would note, though, that by no means did this abuser get off scot-free for his despicable behavior. In the twilight of his life, he was incarcerated for two years, and his reputation was understandably and app<\/a>ropriately destroyed.<\/p>\n

I hope that those who Cosby conned in order to satisfy his insatiable sexual desires will find some comfort in having revealed him to be a fraud. <\/p>\n

Pennsylvania\u2019s Supreme Court has tossed Cosby\u2019s conviction because of yet another prosecutorial faux pas. No matter how appealing, the ends don\u2019t justify the means.<\/p>\n

People get outraged at the judges who toss indictments and overturn convictions when they should, instead, vent their frustrations at the district attorneys and their assistants for playing fast and loose with ethics and the laws or for simply being careless.<\/p>\n

At some point, we have to return to a society where justice truly is blind, everyone has full confidence in the system and a person is innocent until proven guilty.<\/p>\n

Cosby, \u201cAmerica\u2019s Dad,\u201d was sent to prison after a sexual-abuse conviction. He was released on June 30 on a technicality.<\/p>\n

I don\u2019t understand how that could happen after he was convicted by a jury of his peers. I find that quite troubling and appalling.<\/p>\n

This is a message to all women that if they file a complaint of sexual misconduct, they will lose. Women deserve respect from these sexual fiends. It seems if you have money and fame you can walk away.<\/p>\n

As a man, my heartfelt prayers goes out to all women who are sexually abused. Remember this, too: Evil thrives when good men do nothing.<\/p>\n

Cosby\u2019s out of jail. The investigation into Gov. Cuo\u00admo\u2019s behavior is going nowhere. I guess Harvey Weinstein will be next.<\/p>\n

The Issue: Christian Toto\u2019s column on New Yorkers\u2019 tolerance for the diminishing quality of life in the city.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Christian Toto\u2019s column about New Yorkers being \u201cslackers\u201d was right on point (\u201cCity Slackers,\u201d PostOpinion, June 27).<\/p>\n

After the exit from the city and state by people such as Toto and myself, the population that is left are those who are willing to put up with all the terrible policies Toto wrote about as well as the diminished quality of life.<\/p>\n

Toto and I were not willing any longer to suffer the high crime rates and the high tax rates that went along with them. <\/p>\n

Christian Toto, in answer to your question: \u201cWhere are we?\u201d We\u2019re right here, in our 70s and 80s, either not able to or not willing to fight the fight \u201cin the streets\u201d anymore.<\/p>\n

We vote, we pay taxes, we support law enforcement \u2014 and, in the last 15 months, we have fought against the deadly epidemic of COVID and dealt with separation from loved ones as a result.<\/p>\n

With all due respect, you and your peers left a long time ago. We continue to live in, and even love, this terribly flawed city we call home.<\/p>\n
