Showrunner <strong>Michael Waldron<\/strong>, that\u2019s who. In a new feature on\u00a0<a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.marvel.com\/articles\/tv-shows\/loki-sylvie-in-love\">Marvel.com<\/a>, he lays it all out:<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p dir=\"auto\">\u201cThat was one of the cruxes of my pitch [for the <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/watch-movies-tv-seriess\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"8\" title=\"Watch Movies &amp; TV Series\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">series<\/a>], that there was going to be a love story.\u00a0We went back and forth for a little bit about, like do we really want to have this guy fall in love with another version of himself? Is that too crazy? The\u00a0guy\u2019s getting in touch with his feminine side and it turns out the best match for him might just be his female self, the goddess of mischief, Sylvie (<strong>Sophia di Martino<\/strong>). Director Kate Herron agrees:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p><!-- SlashFilm_300x250_In_Post -->\u201cWho\u2019s a better match for Loki than himself? The whole show is about identity. It\u2019s about him, and he is on a very different path, and he is on a different journey. He sees things in Sylvie that he is like, \u2018Oh, I\u2019ve been there. I know what you feel.\u2019 But she\u2019s like, \u2018Well, I don\u2019t feel that way.\u2019 And I think that was the kind of fun thing about it. She is him, but she\u2019s not him. They\u2019ve had such different life experiences. So just from an identity perspective, it was interesting to dig into that.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-678454 aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/d13ezvd6yrslxm.cloudfront.net\/wp\/wp-content\/images\/loki-lamentis-drinkingsong-700x310.jpg\" alt=\"Loki Episode 3 Easter Eggs - Lamentis\" width=\"700\" height=\"310\" srcset=\"https:\/\/d13ezvd6yrslxm.cloudfront.net\/wp\/wp-content\/images\/loki-lamentis-drinkingsong.jpg 700w, https:\/\/d13ezvd6yrslxm.cloudfront.net\/wp\/wp-content\/images\/loki-lamentis-drinkingsong-360x159.jpg 360w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 700px) 100vw, 700px\" \/><\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Tom_Hiddleston_on_Lokis_Relationship_with_Himself\"><\/span>Tom Hiddleston on Loki\u2019s Relationship with Himself<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>At one point in \u201cThe Nexus Event,\u201d Loki\u00a0confesses that he craves attention because he is a narcissist and is scared of being alone.\u00a0This comes while he\u2019s\u00a0imprisoned in a time loop where the \u201cRevenge of the Sif,\u201d so to speak,\u00a0plays out over and over. <strong>Jaimie Alexander<\/strong> returns in a literal walk-on (and walk-off, and walk-on again) role and it\u2019s like the \u201cDormammu, I\u2019ve come to bargain!\u201d scene from\u00a0<em>Dr. Strange<\/em> all over again.<\/p>\n<p>Sif tells Loki he deserves to be alone and always will be, but since she\u2019s just a reconstructed memory, he\u2019s essentially talking to himself, telling himself he\u2019s a horrible person. Star <strong>Tom Hiddleston\u00a0<\/strong>elaborates on the character\u2019s self-loathing and connection with Sylvie:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>\u201cI don\u2019t think Loki\u2019s relationship with himself has been very healthy.\u00a0Trying to accept those aspects of himself, which he\u2019s been on the run from, was a way of thinking about that in a really interesting way. Also, Sylvie\u2019s not Loki. Sylvie is Sylvie. That\u2019s interesting, too.
