Despite ongoing police and MLB investigations into gruesome assault allegations, Dodgers pitcher Trevor Bauer is still scheduled to start in Sunday\u2019s matchup against the Nationals. <\/p>\n

The Pasadena Police Department confirmed to The Athletic<\/a> on Tuesday that Bauer was currently under investigation. The reported incidents occurred in April and May at the 30-year-old\u2019s Pasadena residence. The alleged victim was granted a domestic violence restraining order on June 28. A 68-page restraining order contained graphic images of the assault. <\/p>\n

According to Dodgers manager Dave Roberts, Bauer travel<\/a>ed to Washington with the team and remains slated to start in the four-game<\/a> series<\/a>. <\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019m in the position of following the lead of Major League Baseball,\u201d Roberts said. \u201cTheir recommendation was for us to \u2014 he was our scheduled Sunday starter, and to move forward and have him start that game on Sunday. \u2026 I just choose to follow their lead.\u201d<\/p>\n

As stated in the report, Bauer met the woman on Instagram and had sex that began as consensual. The ace allegedly asked if she had ever been choked, when she said yes, he stuck his fingers down her throat \u201cin an aggressive manner.\u201d<\/p>\n

She claims he eventually began choking her with her own hair without her consent, which led her to lose consciousness. When she woke up, Bauer was allegedly penetrating her anally, an action she claims she never consented to. <\/p>\n

The report states that she spent the night at Bauer\u2019s home as \u201cIn [her] state at that time, [she] did not think Trevor was a threat to do anything against [her] will for the remainder of the night.\u201d<\/p>\n

A month later, the report states that she went back to Bauer\u2019s residence and they both agreed to use a safe word. However, she alleges that after five minutes he began choking her until she lost consciousness again and when she did wake up Bauer was punching her head.<\/p>\n

In the photos she included in the report, her face was \u201cvisibly bruised and swollen, including under both of her eyes. She also has a swollen jaw, bloodied lip and scratches to the side of her face.\u201d<\/p>\n

Jon Fetterolf, Bauer\u2019s agent, released a statement denying the woman\u2019s claims, calling them \u201cbaseless (and)\u00a0defamatory.\u201d <\/p>\n

A hearing will take place on July 23.\n <\/p><\/div>\n
