\nLynne Spears<\/strong> spoke out about Britney Spears<\/strong> following her daughter\u2019s shocking court testimony.<\/p>\n

In a new report from The New Yorker<\/em> on Saturday, the 66-year-old admitted to reporters Ronan Farrow<\/strong> and Jia Tolentino<\/strong> that she had some concerns about her child\u2019s conservatorship that\u2019s co-managed by her father Jamie Spears<\/strong> and others. According to the article, Lynne only \u201cspoke in a whisper\u201d as \u201cshe declined to answer detailed questions about the case.\u201d She also apologized for potentially needing to \u201chang up abruptly\u201d if another family member walked in and found her on a phone call with a journalist before adding:<\/p>\n

\u201cI got mixed feelings about everything. I don\u2019t know what to think \u2026 It\u2019s a lot of pain, a lot of worry.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

While Lynne has remained uninvolved in Britney\u2019s legal arrangement over the years, a Spears family source said she recently has attempted to step in after her daughter \u201cbegged her for help.\u201d The report also stated that the mom of three never became a co-conservator in 2008 because she thought the situation would only last for a few months, and Jamie took control over it anyway.<\/p>\n

In case you didn\u2019t know, Lynne actually supported the pop sensation\u2019s petition to remove her father as a conservator last November. She said via a lawyer that the father-daughter duo had a \u201ctoxic\u201d relationship, explaining:<\/p>\n

\u201cLynne feels there are a lot of concerns with the conservatorship. She feels Jamie has not been transparent with her and is helping Britney as much as she can.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

More recently, the author helped out by objecting to a fee of $890,00 demanded by her ex-husband\u2019s legal representation. Lynne argued that the \u201cservices were not performed in good faith for the benefit of her daughter.\u201d However, Jamie fired back in court documents and claimed that his ex-wife had \u201czero involvement in her daughter\u2019s conservatorship until very recently.\u201d He also claimed that her accusations \u201cthreatened to tarnish [Jamie\u2019s] reputation as a loving, caring father.\u201d<\/p>\n

It\u2019s all very messy, we know.<\/p>\n

In her passionate testimony last week, Britney publicly spoke out against her conservatorship for the first time, detailing the power her father held over her personal and financial decisions. She made some startling allegations against those involved in her controversial matter, including that they denied her the right to have more children by keeping her on birth control and forced her to take lithium against her wishes. The Crossroads<\/em> star said at the time:<\/p>\n

\u201cMy dad and anyone involved in this conservatorship and my management who played a huge role in punishing me \u2014 they should be in jail.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n
