This\u00a0was the Evil One, all right.<\/p>\n

As Monsignor Stephen Rossetti watched the man in front of him, he saw his blue eyes turn yellow and the pupils shrink down to mere dots. They looked, Rossetti said, precisely like the eyes of a hissing snake.<\/p>\n

But the monsignor knew what it really was: The man\u2019s altered app<\/a>earance convinced him for a fact that the man was possessed by a demon.<\/p>\n

Another time, a man\u2019s entire eyes turned jet black, recalled Rossetti. \u201cThis doesn\u2019t usually happen but when it does, it is very startling \u2014 it is obviously demonic,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

Battling demonic forces is regular duty for\u00a0Msgr\u00a0Rossetti, a Catholic priest who worked in two parishes in the Diocese of Syracuse for five years. Now based in the Washington, DC, diocese, he and his team perform up to 20 exorcisms each week, liberating people \u2014 and homes \u2014 from what he calls \u201cdemons and satanic evil.\u201d<\/p>\n

And, the 70-year-old told The Post, exorcisms have \u201cgrown exponentially\u201d in the past decade or so. The United States, wracked by discord and a moral crisis, is \u201cdemonically oppressed.<\/p>\n
