Monobank expects to release the new feature later this month pending approval from the National Bank of Ukraine, Gorokhovsky noted.<\/p>\n<p>Launched in 2017, Monobank\u00a0<a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.pressreader.com\/ukraine\/kyiv-post\/20191129\/281530817880159\">operates<\/a> under the license of Universal Bank owned by tycoon Sergey Tigipko, a former central bank chief and ex-deputy prime minister of Ukraine. As of August 2020, Monobank\u2019s user base reportedly <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/itc.ua\/news\/chislo-klientov-monobank-prevysilo-25-mln-kazhduyu-minutu-dobavlyaetsya-tri-novyh-klienta\/\">amassed<\/a> over 2.5 million customers.<\/p>\n<p>Monobank\u2019s Gorokhovsky, who is also a former deputy board chairman at PrivatBank \u2014 the largest commercial bank in Ukraine \u2014 expressed his optimism about Bitcoin earlier this year. In a <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/social-mediaa\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"1\" title=\"Social Media\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Facebook<\/a> post in February, Gorokhovsky <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/100000560024798\/posts\/4223629847665641\/?d=n\">said<\/a> that Tesla\u2019s $1.5-billion Bitcoin purchase finally convinced him to believe that Bitcoin is here to stay. Oleksandr Bornyakov, deputy minister of the Ministry of Digital Transformation, <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/bornyakov\/posts\/10225680839871769\">announced<\/a> last Wednesday that the authority recommended the adoption of an updated draft bill \u201cOn Virtual Assets\u201d in the second reading.<\/p>\n<p>On Wednesday, the Ukrainian parliament also <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/minfin.com.ua\/2021\/07\/01\/67220107\/\">passed<\/a>\u00a0new legislation regulating payment methods, including regulations regarding Ukraine\u2019s central bank digital currency.<\/p>\n<p><template data-name=\"subscription_form\" data-type=\"markets_outlook\"><\/template><\/div>\n<blockquote><p><strong><span style=\"color: #ff6600;\">If you liked the article, do not forget to share it with your friends.
