The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention made a splash on social media when it warned Americans against swimming with diarrhea this summer \u2014 with some joking the agency\u2019s animation went poo far.<\/p>\n

\u201cDon\u2019t leave your mark at the pool this summer!\u201d the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention posted on Twitter<\/a> ahead of the July 4 holiday weekend.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt only takes one person with diarrhea to contaminate the entire pool,\u201d the agency added, along with a gif of a girl going down a slide while leaving an unmistakable brown streak in her wake.<\/p>\n

In another post, it wrote<\/a>: \u201cDiarrhea and swimming don\u2019t mix! Follow CDC\u2019s Steps for Healthy Swimming to help protect yourself and those you care about from illness at the pool.\u201d<\/p>\n

Along with the message is a cartoon image of a girl submerged in a toilet bowl while wearing swimming goggles and a snorkel.<\/p>\n

\u201cIf you wouldn\u2019t do this \u2026,\u201d the adjoining caption reads, \u201c\u2026 then why would you do THIS?\u201d<\/p>\n

The question refers to a boy pooping in a pool \u2013 leaving another stomach-churning visual.<\/p>\n

Social media users quickly took note of the runs and dumped on the repulsive images.<\/p>\n

\u201cI saw it, so you have to as well,\u201d @JohnGeebair said in a tweet<\/a>.<\/p>\n

\u201cForget #covid19 beware of #s\u2014-ykids,\u201d @sachinbayarea wrote<\/a>.<\/p>\n

And @SpeedShot7 said<\/a>, \u201cWell there goes my summer plans.\u201d<\/p>\n

On the serious side, the CDC also posted a link for a descript<\/a>ion of how germs spread in recreational water.<\/p>\n

\u201cStay out of the water if you are sick with diarrhea. If you have been diagnosed with\u00a0Crypto, don\u2019t go back in the water until 2 weeks after diarrhea has completely stopped,\u201d it explains<\/a>.\n <\/div>\n
