A website aiming to support the development of Bitcoin has reportedly been hit with a DDoS attack.<\/p>\n

C\u00f8bra, the pseudonymous owner of Bitcoin.org, reported<\/a> on Twitter<\/a> today that the website had been hit with an \u201cabsolutely massive\u201d distributed denial of service, or DDoS, attack along with a ransom demand for an undisclosed amount of Bitcoin (BTC). At time of publication, Bitcoin.org is still accessible. <\/p>\n

\u201cBack in the day you could put up a reasonable fight against most DDoS attacks,\u201d said<\/a> C\u00f8bra. \u201cNow they just down you at will. There is no \u2018fight\u2019 anymore, you go down and stay down until they leave you alone.\u201d<\/p>\n
