And one of the main benefits of that famous \u201cthird place\u201d between work and home, especially for remote workers, is the free Wi-Fi. Connecting to the Wi-Fi network at any Starbucks store is usually simple.<\/p>\n<h2 role=\"heading\" aria-level=\"2\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Finding_a_Location\"><\/span>Finding a Location<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>If you\u2019re in an unfamiliar area and want to find the closest store, Starbucks makes that pretty easy. Just use the <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.starbucks.com\/store-locator?map=39.635307,-101.337891,5z\">Starbucks locator page<\/a> and type in your city, state, or ZIP code, and it\u2019ll bring up a list of nearby results. You can also just use your current location (You\u2019ll have to give the site permission to access your location first.).<\/p>\n<h2 role=\"heading\" aria-level=\"2\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Connecting_to_Starbucks_Free_Wi-Fi\"><\/span>Connecting to Starbucks Free Wi-Fi<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>Use your device\u2019s Wi-Fi menu\u2014in the top-right corner of the screen on a Mac, in the bottom-right corner of the screen on a Windows PC, or in Settings on an iPhone or Android\u2014to pull up the list of available networks nearby.<\/p>\n<p>As long as you\u2019re in range of the Starbucks free Wi-Fi network, you\u2019ll see it as \u201cGoogle Starbucks.\u201d Starbucks locations use <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/support.google.com\/fiber\/answer\/3289712?hl=en\">Google Fiber internet<\/a> for their networks.<\/p>\n<p>Once your device is connected, open a web browser. The page that loads should be a login portal for the Wi-Fi. In some cases, this might open automatically.<\/p>\n<p>If this is the first time that you\u2019ve connected to a Starbucks network, you\u2019ll be prompted to enter your:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li aria-level=\"1\">first and last name<\/li>\n<li aria-level=\"1\">email address<\/li>\n<li aria-level=\"1\">ZIP code<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Once you\u2019ve done that, click \u201cAccept &amp; Continue\u201d to connect.<\/p>\n<p>Note that by connecting and accepting the terms, you give Starbucks permission to send you offers via email. Check to see if you can opt out of this before connecting. If you can\u2019t, unsubscribe once the company sends you a promotional email. There will be a link labeled \u201cUnsubscribe\u201d at the very bottom.<\/p>\n<p>Once you\u2019ve agreed to the terms, you\u2019ll see a web page telling you that you\u2019ve successfully connected to the network. You\u2019re all set to sip your coffee and browse to your heart\u2019s content.<\/p>\n<p>Whichever device you log in on should automatically reconnect to the network on future visits without you having to reenter your information (unless you delete the network from your Wi-Fi menu).<\/p>\n<h2 role=\"heading\" aria-level=\"2\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Troubleshooting_Starbucks_Free_Wi-Fi\"><\/span>Troubleshooting Starbucks\u2019 Free Wi-Fi<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>While many people connect to the free Wi-Fi at Starbucks without an issue, its network can be finicky. If you can\u2019t connect or are having problems logging in, there are a few methods that you can try.<\/p>\n<h3><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Deleting_and_Re-Adding_the_Network\"><\/span>Deleting and Re-Adding the Network<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n<p>If your device can\u2019t connect to the network at all, you can remove it from the list of Wi-Fi networks on your device and try to reconnect it.<\/p>\n<p>How you do this depends on your device. For example, on\u00a0Windows 10, right-click the network in the list of available Wi-Fi networks and select \u201cForget.\u201d On an iPhone, tap the blue \u201ci\u201d to the right of a network name on the Settings &gt; Wi-Fi screen and tap \u201cForget This Network.\u201d On a Mac, you\u2019ll find this option in System Preferences &gt; Network.<\/p>\n<h3><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Clearing_Your_Browsers_Cache\"><\/span>Clearing Your Browser\u2019s Cache<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n<p>You can also try clearing your cache in Chrome or another browser. The option will be available in your browser\u2019s settings.<\/p>\n<h3><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Try_Connecting_to_Google_or_an_HTTP_Website\"><\/span>Try Connecting to Google or an HTTP Website<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n<p>Navigating to Google\u2019s website might also prompt the login page. Try entering the entire URL (https:\/\/www.google.com) instead of just google.com.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"admonishment_tip\"><p><strong>Tip:<\/strong> Connecting to an HTTP website can often help make the login page <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/download-scripts-themes-apps\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"9\" title=\"Download Scripts &amp; Themes &amp; Apps\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">app<\/a>ear. If you need an easy, fast HTTP website to connect to, try <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"http:\/\/example.com\/\">example.com<\/a>.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<h3><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Change_Your_DNS_Settings\"><\/span>Change Your DNS Settings<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n<p>Problems with coffee shop Wi-Fi are often a domain name system (DNS) issue.<\/p>\n<p>If you\u2019ve previously changed your DNS settings, try reverting them back to the default. This should fix the problem. If it doesn\u2019t, you can try reconfiguring your DNS settings again.<\/p>\n<p>Other possible quick fixes include:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li aria-level=\"1\">resetting the Wi-Fi connection by disabling\/reenabling Wi-Fi on your device<\/li>\n<li aria-level=\"1\">navigating to a non-HTTPS page in your browser in an incognito window<\/li>\n<li aria-level=\"1\">restarting your device<\/li>\n<li aria-level=\"1\">temporarily disabling your VPN<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<blockquote class=\"admonishment_tip\"><p><strong>Tip:<\/strong> If you\u2019re using the free public Wi-Fi at Starbucks, avoid squatting for an extended period of time without making at least a small purchase. It\u2019s just good etiquette.
