Elon Musk voiced support for Britney Spears on Monday, tweeting,<\/a> \u201cFree Britney,\u201d in the latest high-profile show of support for the pop star in the midst of her conservatorship<\/a> battle. <\/p>\n

The Space X CEO\u2019s early morning post about the \u201cOops! \u2026 I did it again\u201d singer went viral, racking up about 20 million retweets within hours Monday morning. With the tweet, Musk joined a chorus <\/a>of others who have formed a movement to end Spears\u2019 unwanted legal arrangement. <\/p>\n

The Mississippi-born best-selling artist\u2019s app<\/a>roximately $60 million fortune has for 13 been in the hands of her father, Jamie Spears, who the youngers Spears said has forced her to work, to take birth control and drugged her. <\/p>\n

Spears lost in her latest effort to gain control over her finances and life on Thursday, when court documents showed a judge had denied <\/a>her bid to remove her \u201cabusive\u201d father from the controversial conservatorship that has controlled her life for more than a decade. <\/p>\n

The ruling was in response to a November request by Spears\u2019 lawyer to add wealth management firm Bessemer Trust to\u00a0the troubling conservatorship\u00a0and remove her dad. <\/p>\n

It was not a direct response to Spears\u2019 impassioned confessional during a virtual status hearing last month \u2014 in which the singer said she felt like a prisoner and was unable to even get married or\u00a0have more kids<\/a>.<\/p>\n

\u201cMa\u2019am, my dad and anyone involved in this conservatorship, and my management, who played huge roles in punishing me when I said \u2018No\u2019 [to going on tour] \u2014 Ma\u2019am, they should be in jail,\u201d Spears said at the June 23 hearing.<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019ve lied and told the whole world I\u2019m OK and I\u2019m happy,\u201d she added. \u201cI\u2019ve been in denial. I\u2019ve been in shock. I am traumatized\u2026 I\u2019m not happy. I can\u2019t sleep. I\u2019m so angry. It\u2019s insane. And I\u2019m depressed. I cry every day.\u201d<\/p>\n

Musk\u2019s public advocacy came after fellow star Christina Aguilera also recently backed <\/a>Spears, decrying \u201cunacceptable\u201d treatment.<\/p>\n

\u201cThese past few days I\u2019ve been thinking about Britney and everything she is going through,\u201d read the singer\u2019s statement,\u00a0posted on Aguilera\u2019s Instagram story\u00a0on June 28.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt is unacceptable that any woman, or human, wanting to be in control of their own destiny might not be allowed to live life as they wish.\u201d<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, AJ McLean of the Backstreet Boys in June said he was on team Free Britney. <\/p>\n

\u201cAt the end of the day, the truth will come out. I am 100 million percent on the #FreeBritney train because I completely agree with it,\u201d he said. \u201cAll of us should just pray for Britney and also pray for her family.\u201d\n <\/p><\/div>\n
