It was a great move at the time \u2014 the trailer promised explosive fun and everyone loves the idea of a rogues gallery coming together to tackle greater evil and discover their heart! Or at least, everyone was supposed to love it.\u00a0Instead, things went pretty off the rails and David Ayer\u2019s <em>Suicide Squad<\/em> was widely considered a dis<a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/download-scripts-themes-apps\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"9\" title=\"Download Scripts &amp; Themes &amp; Apps\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">app<\/a>ointment to critics and fans alike.<\/p>\n<p>So of course, 5 years later, another DC movie is quickly approaching its release date, this time titled\u00a0<em><strong>The Suicide Squad.<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n<p><!-- SlashFilm_300x250_In_Post -->Naturally, the first word that springs to mind is reboot. But unlike most new iterations of superhero franchises, there was no recasting involved. No, the entire cast of the first <em>Suicide Squad<\/em> won\u2019t be in attendance, with several core actors not reprising their roles. This includes squad members Deadshot (<strong>Will Smith<\/strong>), Enchantress (<strong>Cara Delevigne<\/strong>), Katana (<strong>Karen Fukuhara<\/strong>), El Diablo (<strong>Jay Hernandez<\/strong>), and Killer Croc (<strong>Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje<\/strong>).<\/p>\n<p>But rather than filing the roles with new actors, <strong><em>The Suicide Squad<\/em><\/strong> has opted to switch things up. Instead, new characters will make up the squad, alongside returners like <strong>Margot Robbie<\/strong>\u2019s Harley Quinn, who appeared in both<em>\u00a0Suicide Squad<\/em> and the more recent DCEU-connected <em><strong>Birds of Prey<\/strong><\/em>. Other returners include <strong>Viola Davis<\/strong> as Amanda Waller, <strong>Jai Courtney<\/strong> as Captain Boomerang, and <strong>Joel Kinnaman<\/strong> as Rick Flag.<\/p>\n<p>So if not a reboot, the only logical conclusion is to think of this <em>Suicide Squad<\/em> as a sequel to the events of the first, right? According to producer <strong>Peter Safran<\/strong>, the 2016 film isn\u2019t connected after all.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p><!-- SlashFilm_300x250_In_Post_2 -->We just don\u2019t address [David Ayer\u2019s Suicide Squad] in any tangible form. Yes, they\u2019re the characters, the actors that played them in the first movie. But we really wanted to make sure that this stands on its own two feet.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>This iteration of <em>The Suicide Squad<\/em> doesn\u2019t require you to watch the first: familiar faces aside, the story won\u2019t be referenced or affect the plot of this movie. But have no fear about what this means for the wider DC universe, there will always be an abundance of Easter eggs. Safran confirmed that they are definitely throughout the movie,\u00a0with production designer <strong>Beth Mickle<\/strong> adding,<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>We\u2019ve done some very small ones and throughout in graphics, and box labels and things but it\u2019s only if you\u2019re looking very closely.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>While this movie will stand all on its own, this doesn\u2019t rule out the possibility for hints towards the future of the universe. This reimagined <em>Suicide Squa<\/em>d pulls characters from across the DC villain pantheon.<br \/>\n<!-- SlashFilm_300x250_In_Post_3 -->The returning cast will be joined by newcomers, including Bloodsport (<strong>Idris Elba<\/strong>), a technologically advanced mercenary, and Peacemaker, a ruthless killer portrayed by the inimitable <strong>John Cena<\/strong>. <strong>Sylvester Stallone<\/strong> will join in, though he may be hard to given his character King Shark literally has the head of a great white shark. But at the very least, it shouldn\u2019t be hard to pick out <strong>Peter Capaldi<\/strong> as The Thinker (despite the bolts sticking out of his electrifying head).<\/p>\n<p>Character choice and design is just the tip of the iceberg.
