If you can\u2019t handle the heat, then get out of New York City.<\/p>\n

The Big App<\/a>le will bake for two straight days as temperatures soar above 90 this week \u2014 but the humidity will make it feel like the trip<\/a>le digits, a forecaster said Tuesday.\u00a0<\/p>\n

After a cooler Fourth of July weekend, the mercury is expected to rise as high as 93 degrees Tuesday, AccuWeather senior meteorologist Paul Walker told the Post.\u00a0<\/p>\n

\u201cLook for a high of 93 today, but with the humidity, it\u2019s going to feel like 105 degrees at times this afternoon, because of it being so humid,\u201d Walker said. <\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s going to make it feel a lot warmer than the actual air temperature.\u201d<\/p>\n

Thunderstorms could then pose a threat later in the day, the forecaster warned.\u00a0<\/p>\n

\u201cIt could bring some damaging wind gusts and some heavy rains,\u201d Walker said. \u201cIt\u2019s not out of the question that you could lose power because of that thunderstorm later this afternoon or this evening.\u201d<\/p>\n

But the storm won\u2019t drive out the heat, as meteorologists are eyeing the exact same forecast for Wednesday \u2014 high temperatures hitting 93 with a heat index of 105, according to Walker.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Due to the heat, a planned ceremony at the end of the city\u2019s ticker-tape parade along the Canyon of Heroes \u2014 the section of Broadway in Lower Manhattan \u2014 will be \u201cstripped down\u201d and much smaller, Mayor Bill de Blasio said at his Tuesday press briefing.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Additional cooling and water stations will be added along the route, he said.\u00a0<\/p>\n

\u201cWe have a little bit of a challenge because we do have some heat tomorrow,\u201d Hizzoner said.\u00a0<\/p>\n

The parade will kick off at Battery Park and come up to City Hall.\u00a0<\/p>\n

However, despite the sizzling temps, the city won\u2019t quite meet the heatwave criteria this week, Walker said. <\/p>\n

A heatwave requires three days in a row of temperatures 90 degrees or greater, he said.\u00a0<\/p>\n

\u201cSo this falls short by a day,\u201d Walker said. \u201cYou know, [Monday] we were only 83.\u201d<\/p>\n

It will only reach 86 degrees on Thursday, but it will feel like the low 90s, Walker said. Showers are also expected.<\/p>\n

This week\u2019s stifling temperatures are just par for the course in the summertime, the meteorologist explained.\u00a0<\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s above normal, yes, but we quite often have these couple of days where it gets very hot and very humid, so it\u2019s typical for this time of year,\u201d he said.\u00a0<\/p>\n

The mercury won\u2019t come anywhere close to touching record temperatures Tuesday or Wednesday, Walker said.\u00a0<\/p>\n

The record for both days was set in 2010 \u2014 103 degrees on Tuesday\u2019s date and 100 on Wednesday\u2019s date, he said.\n <\/p><\/div>\n
