Now the filmmaker is tackling another ragtag group of comic book characters with the DC Comics adaptation <em><strong>The Suicide Squad<\/strong><\/em>. Even though this film is guaranteed to give us plenty of comic book action and an assembly of morally questionable characters at the center of it, producer <strong>Peter Safran<\/strong> says <em>The Suicide Squad<\/em> will be much more than DC\u2019s version of<em> Guardians of the Galaxy<\/em>, and James Gunn couldn\u2019t agree more.<span id=\"more-680927\"><\/span><\/p>\n<p>It\u2019s easy to see why <em>The Suicide Squad<\/em> is already getting compared to<em> Guardians of the Galaxy<\/em>. It will have plenty of comedy mixed in the with the blockbuster action, an assembly of unique characters, including a couple sure-to-be-popular non-human ones, and a soundtrack full of toe-t<a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/download-scripts-themes-apps\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"9\" title=\"Download Scripts &amp; Themes &amp; Apps\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">app<\/a>ing needledrops. But while our own Hoai-Tran Bui was on the set of <em>The Suicide Squad<\/em>, she learned about the many ways this movie will differ from <em>Guardians of the Galaxy<\/em>. Producer Peter Safran said:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>\u201cI think it\u2019s so different than Guardians of the Galaxy just in terms of how grounded it is. Obviously, you still have a King Shark and a Weasel but it\u2019s so grounded in the real world. It\u2019s so grounded in Earth as opposed to the space operative that Guardians is. So that and the fact that it\u2019s so much grittier that it is R-rated, and the way it\u2019s shot, you\u2019ll see, is very different than Guardians. It\u2019s not as smooth or as slick as Guardians.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p><!-- SlashFilm_300x250_In_Post -->James Gunn echoed those sentiments, describing <em>The Suicide Squad<\/em> as being rougher than <em>Guardians of the Galaxy<\/em>. The director also said:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>\u201cIt really is a war [film]. I mean, it is just a more grounded story. It\u2019s a sad story. And one of the most fun things I think at the end of the day, even though we do kill in Guardians of the Galaxy, we do kill some of them, but in this movie, it really is about you don\u2019t know who\u2019s going to get killed.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-680955 aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/d13ezvd6yrslxm.cloudfront.net\/wp\/wp-content\/images\/suicidesquad-jamesgunn-onset-700x300.jpg\" alt=\"The Suicide Squad - James Gunn\" width=\"700\" height=\"300\" srcset=\"https:\/\/d13ezvd6yrslxm.cloudfront.net\/wp\/wp-content\/images\/suicidesquad-jamesgunn-onset.jpg 700w, https:\/\/d13ezvd6yrslxm.cloudfront.net\/wp\/wp-content\/images\/suicidesquad-jamesgunn-onset-360x154.jpg 360w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 700px) 100vw, 700px\" \/><\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Behind_the_Scenes\"><\/span>Behind the Scenes<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>Helping to make<em> The Suicide Squad<\/em> stand apart from <em>Guardians of the Galaxy<\/em> is the crew behind the camera. Safran called attention to the cinematography being done by <strong>Henry Braham<\/strong> and how it adds to the grittier style of the film. Even though Braham also shot <em>Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2<\/em> for James Gunn, the producer said:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>\u201cIt\u2019s much dirtier, and grittier, and rougher just in terms of the camera with the same fantastic [cinematographer], Henry Braham. It\u2019s a very different language with the movement of the camera that he wanted for this movie. So no, I don\u2019t think it was any question that it was just DC\u2019s version of Guardians. It\u2019s a very different feel.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p><!-- SlashFilm_300x250_In_Post_2 --><\/p>\n<p>Also coming over from the Marvel side is another crew member who gave the film a different vibe than the work done on <em>Guardians of the Galaxy<\/em> and<em> The Avengers<\/em>. Gunn explained:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>\u201cEverything is\u2026completely practical, you know, the biggest sets ever on any film. More visual..I was able to take all the heads of departments that I\u2019ve used on other films and kind of just do a Best Of. Dan Sudick is doing special effects, and he\u2019s doing more special effects or live special effects in this film than all the Marvel <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/watch-movies-tv-seriess\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"8\" title=\"Watch Movies &amp; TV Series\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">movies<\/a> combined. Even though the Guardians can be rough around the edges and have committed plenty of crimes across the galaxy, each of them is actually good at their core. But James Gunn says the roster of <em>The Suicide Squad<\/em> is a little more complicated. The director explained:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>\u201cSome of these characters may end up being good. Some of them are definitely not good. And some of them, most of them, are somewhere in between different shades of grey. And that moral drama, that moral play, the fact that you don\u2019t know anything that\u2019s going to happen is\u2026it\u2019s that unknown of being on edge that it\u2019s really not knowing what\u2019s going to happen is much different.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p><!-- SlashFilm_300x250_In_Post_3 --><\/p>\n<p>James Gunn certainly has an eclectic filmography outside of <em>Guardians of the Galaxy<\/em>, so if there\u2019s anyone who can veer away from the style of comic book movie that fans might be expecting, it\u2019s him.
